Hi Guys,

It's been some time since I have played paintball, but myself and a few friends are getting back into it in the very near future. We enjoy playing woodsball mostly.  We have property that we can play on without having to go to a pay to play field.  We would like to be completely self-sufficient, by being able to fill our own tanks.

We will be using Compressed Air and have access to an air compressor at a Firehouse.  This topic may have been covered before, so I apologize in advance if it has.

I understand that we need a couple of scuba tanks to fill from while in the field, however, I am unsure of the connections and valves.

What type of valve or connection does a Firehouse use?  A scuba tank?  A HPA tank for paintball?

Has anyone done this before?  Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks for your help!

I cant help you much, but I know you will have to buy a fill station, which is available at most online stores and runs about $30. Sorry I cant help much otherwise...

If you get a fill rig like SSOK said then you wont need anything else as long as it's dive tanks that your filling at the firehouse.

I would just run a remote and carry the scuba tank with me.

A filling apparatus for a fire station will likely be SCBA based, and an adapter to fill a k-valve SCUBA will run you about $100. Once it's filled all you will need to fill your paintball tanks is a k-valve fill station which is available at an paintball store for around $30.

Most Firestations have the SCBA to SCUBA adapters there, at least all the ones around here do.

Can they fill higher than 2000psi?  Most SCBA tanks like the ones we have where I work are 2000psi tanks.
