My Steampunk inspired cocker is allllmost done. The side panels still need engraved, and I still want to do some type of barrel-tip front sight.

This thing started out as a stock 97 autococker.

Custom parts: ASA block, Bolt, Bolt pin, Cocking rod, Ball detent, Beavertail, Back block, Front block screw, Velocity adjuster, Hammer.

Third-party parts: Benchmark frame,  Roller sear & Trigger, Rocket Valve, Thunderpig barrel.

As a comparison, heres how it started, right after I bought it from Kiolia

Is this the same marker you were working on about 2 years ago when I last left the forums Shenk? Or have you finished that one and started a new project?

It's ok.  Still not liking the thin gauge brass panel on the side and the grips have to go.  Easy fix but the grips are destroying the look that I think you're going for.

The brass side panels are definately there to stay. The idea is one side will say "The Auto-Clocker", and the other "Shenko Heavy Industries".

The grips are going to be replaced with wood panel grips with leather inlays, and Shenko logos in brass. Ive been working on the machining lately.

You should add 'Tech' after Industries.

Just to clarify I like the idea of the panel and screws.  I'm just thinking that something like 3/32 thickness would be better.

I'm still thinking flip-up sites would be cool on that gun.  Call Williams Gun Site if you can't find what you're looking for.  They manufacture alot of aperature sight's etc.

Something like this

Looks cool Shenk, though I think some wood panel grips would really polish the steampunk theme.

Cut some wood grips. Still to go on the grips hopefully inset a Shenko logo in the sides.

Yeah, but by all rights GLaDOS should be the front runner on this ticket...

Yeah, at least HAL saves everyone in 2010. GLaDOS is purely sadistic...

Wow that looks rad. I am planning on using that look on the 98 I was building for the build off even though it is over. I really like the grooving on the barrel and your idea for using springs as strain relief on the LP hose. The ASA looks out of place being black though. The wooden grips look great and for the people that say it doesn't fit the style I would have to disagree. Lots of old time machinery uses hardwoods on components that have complex curves and don't require a great deal of strength, simply because the technology and manufacturing processes like CNC control weren't invented yet. I don't have a firm grasp on what is steampunk, but there is an old time process that I know of that I think would definetly compliment this steampunk look. It's called engine turning and when done right it looks amazing.

i think it would look smoother if you inlaid the brass inserts and milled the screws flush.

It's steampunk. It's supposed to be rough-lookin'!
