when I use HPA it breaks paintballs at the same velocity as CO2, and I can't adjust the velocity high enough with HPA so that it shoots far enough without breaking balls. When I shoot with CO2 it shoots fine. anyone have any idea whats going on?

I had the mental image of somebody hammering a case of paint with an HPA tank.

There are a bunch of reasons this is happening, but the foremost that comes to mind is that you're fooling with the marker's velocity.  If you crank the velocity up to "make up" for lost distance, that could be your culprit as why you're breaking paint.  Keep the velocity at 300fps or below ALWAYS.

As to why your marker shoots farther on C02 than HPA I haven't a clue.  My A-5 shoots equal distance with either my C02 or HPA cylinders.

If you want further information on this issue, post all of your marker specs (modifications, add-ons, etc.)

Remember:  You must re-chrono your marker when you switch between C02 and HPA.
