How much did it set you back, I have been interested in the slg ever since it came out. If you wouldn't mind I would love to read a review on it after you have fired it.

Can do.

Edit** It set me back one heavily modded X7. But I got the marker, Halo B w/ripdrive and speed feed, 2 extra barrels, and a new feed neck with this. I also got about $30.

Looks nice! Neat little markers, and if they are lighter/as light as the Rail, they weigh next to nothing! Would love to hear a review as well.

Compare that to an X7. 5 pounds with all the stuff I had on it, without anything else, like air, or paint. Heavy.

Looks good. I like the olive.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

SLG weighs 2.2lbs with barrel, Rail Weighs only 1.96lbs with barrel. its not a very noticeable difference obviously but the SLG it still slightly heavier.

physically though, the SLG is smaller.

Nice little guns, if my team wins this series we are playing, we all get SLGs. which for all of us would be a downgrade, but hey free gun.

I like it so far. I'm thinking maybe a new asa and a drop forward, then the UL frame when it comes out, but, until then, I'll get a new trigger, I don't like this one, it really sucks.

It is better for speedball. No, it's not full auto, that's illegal in tournies. There is no point in comparing it to a woodsball marker.

Review:

Marker Setup:
Proto SLG (Olive)
CP 16" Barrel (black)
Proto 2 piece (red/silver)
Stock Autococker barrel
Stock SLG barrel (2)
PE 48/3000 Tank
Halo B/w rip drive and speed feed

I also have a Trilogy Competition SF Autococker.

Recommended Upgrades:
On/Off
Clamping Feed neck
Barrel/Barrel Kit

Strengths:
Weight
Simplicity of design
Backed by a good company
Quiet (though not like Matrixes)

Weaknesses:
Feed neck (can't expect too much at $200)
ASA

Review: I saw a demo version of this gun at my local store and I decided that I liked it.
Normally I don't like to be a guinea pig when new markers come out, but in this case I made an exception.
I got my olive SLG this week and had a chance to test it out.

The First Impressions:

This is one SMALL marker. I actually didn't notice this completely until I had the marker gassed up and ready to test it, but there was very little difference in the way of weight compared to a matrix and it is quite noticeably lighter than my Trilly, my X7, my dad's Spyder Victor, or any of the Ions that I've tested.
The body is absolutely gorgeous and there were no marks, and the grips are actually quite nice. Its a very simple look, but I like it.

The marker came in an absolutely tiny box, but it is pretty well protected. Its not like the Mini's case, but I think I'll still store the marker in it. Inside it comes with a pretty simple Proto barrel, some lube, an extra o-ring kit, extra detents, a battery, and the crappiest barrel sock you've ever seen (seriously Dye can you not even put your name on it?).

The Good:
Again, this marker is very light, I think it weighs as much with the tank as my friend's X7 does without.
After gassing up I went to chrono and a few shots later I was getting about +/- 8. Seeing as I haven't broken the reg in yet I was pretty happy.  The electronics are very simple and easy to figure out, they have all kinds of modes that I'll never use and the eyes seem to work fairly well. I'd heard of some people having trouble with the eyes when using small bore paint, but my paint sized out at .686 and I had absolutely no trouble.  I've also heard of some people having trouble with the detents, but again mine seem fine.  I didn't check the bps I was getting to give you data, but it probably wasn't more than about 10-15 (human limitation not the marker).  The trigger isn't the best in the world, but I haven't really played with it at this point.  Besides you can't expect perfection in a value-priced marker.  As for accuracy, it was very good for me. I suspect that I will get VERY good accuracy once the reg is broken in- comparable to my autococker, or the Mini's I've used.

Finally, maintenance looks to be a cinch: the bolt is simple to remove (especially with the purge button on the back) and the lubing/regulator disassembly is well outlined in the manual. I had 2 breaks in my time. (I was using very old seconds)

The Curious:

The new Hyper 3 Reg will rotate 360 degrees where the hose screws in.

The Unknown:

At the moment I can't speak to battery life, or efficiency since I've only had about 300 balls through it. I'll try to update as I use it. Also, since I obviously have only had it out once I can't speak to reliability.

Conclusion: I'm overall very happy with the marker. For the market its geared towards it is a very good deal. There are a few things that could be improved upon (and hopefully that ASA issue can get cleared up). In the end I'm going to give it an 8, with the ASA and the feed neck keeping it from getting higher marks.

Edit** fixed a few things.

That does not look like a hyper 3. I would much rather it swivel. Easier to use and adjust to your personal likeings.

Sounds like a good deal, if my shocker deal doesn't work out I will definitely look at one of these.

Well, I just had another chance to fire it, and It did pretty good, no chops, but id did jam a few times, so I had to take out the back plate and the bolt and re-lube them, but other than that, it fired perfectly. If you are wondering why it jammed, I was using a crappy egg 2 because I need a new feed neck that fits the Halo B I have.
