I just purchased a Tippmann A5 e-grip and read the manual (always a mistake) a before I put the battery in and installed the grip on my marker.

The manual says that when you turn the grip on the LED should light solid orange for two second (which it does) it should then flash Red for 98 and Green for A5 then turn to solid green indicating that it is ready to go.
The problem is that the led on my e-grip goes solid Orange then RED then green the red indicates that it is for a model 98 marker acording to the manual

The e-grip is brand new and came in a box with the part code 02EG and on the box says for A5 markers theres no mention of 98 markers on the box in addition to the standard packaging which has a printed sticker saying Featuring W.A.S. Equaliser board rate of fire up to 30 BPS, there is a sticker on the outside of the box which says NEW Quickstart programming .
I have tried to reset the polarity using both the instructions in the tippmann download area and the W.A.S download area, following the instructions justs resets the e-grip to factory default settings

I have e-mailed both Tippman and W.A.S. but no response as yet.

Does anyone know if tippmann or W.A.S. have updated the board so that the LED flashes red for A5.

My e grip does the same thing and its for the A5 in fact mine e grip was factory installed. It works just fine though never noticed the light colour before. Maybe its a typo in the manual?

Thanks thats good to know.

Guess its either a typo or the manual needs updating.

What you should do is gas it up and see if it'll work. If all the modes function as they should your good to go. if they don't work at all and the thing won't fire, you should probably call tippmann and as a tech guy about it.
