The red envelope means "hot topic". What determines what is a hot topic, I do not know. I suspect either number of replies or replies within a specified period. If there appears to be a couple of pieces of paper coming out of the envelope, it means there are replies in the thread that you have not yet read... -------------

The hot topic goes by how many views the topic has. I think its something like 50 views and it becomes a hot topic. -------------
