Hello all. I just got my cyclone feed in for my 98custom and can figure how most of it goes except it looks like the internals of the power tube need to come out and I can’t seem to figure out how to do that. Can anyone lend a hand?

It should be in your manual... unscrew your air source adapter under your grip, then remove all receiver screws from the left half of the marker. Now your marker's receiver halves are ready to come apart (leave the cyclone on so that you don't lose that darn sight spring). Remove all internals excluding powertube. Now on the right receiver half (cyclone side) remove those two screws. Note that the new customs come with the required powertube already installed. Check if theres a plastic plug protruding near the safety on the right receiver.

Thanks but thats not really what I'm asking. The cyclone came with a new power tube, but just the outter part. It looks to me that I need the internals of the original power tube. If so... how do I get them out to put in the new cyclone power tube?

The CVX valve should slide out of the powertube. You will need to get something long and narrow that you can use to push the CVX valve out, but BE CAREFUL WITH THIS. Using a wooden spoon is usually your best bet, but when you start to push it out, do not force it, because you could ruin the internals of the valve. If you have to hammer on the spoon to get your valve out, DON'T. Take it to a pro shop or something and have them do it.

But it should slide out pretty easily.

Once you get it out, you might want to grease it up with some gun lube before you put it back in your new powertube. As long as the holes in the CVX Valve line up with the holes in the powertube when you put it back in, you are good to go.

I used a pencil to push it out and it worked like a charm. Thx to all.

Anyone else reading this thread may want to double check to make sure you need to replace your power tube. If you have a newer 98, it may already have the newer powertube and be set up to receive the RTand/or Cyclone. You might not have to change it.
