Do you already have an air source or does that $250 comprise your entire budget?

You could pick an up'd ion for pretty cheap (less then $200). However your going to also have to drop alot more for a hopper to feed it and HPA tank.

Haha...

Yeah, we need more info like previously stated. Does the $250 include the whole setup, or do you have HPA and a good hopper?

I think action village or zephyr dropped the price to $179 for an A5. You might be able to pick up a DP fusion for under $250 on ebay. I had a ion and didn't like it so I would recommend a proto slg over a ion or epiphany. I really don't know anything about evil omens but I think they are selling under $200.

Actually I sold that ion on ebay and with the money I bought a new 98 Custom Platinum.

I prefer the A5.  Then get a good barrel for it.

Ive seen the triumph in action and it wasnt anything special.  The plastic body is what really makes me dislike it more too.  Kind of looks like Black and Decker came out with a paintball marker.

you are better off getting a  98c, Alpha, or A5

It really depends what he wants it for, woodsball or speedball. Also, if you want a woodsball gun, do you want a Mil Sim look? I know nothing about speedball guns (i've only done speedball a few times), but for woodsball I would go with a Tippy A5, 98C, or a Alpha Black. Alpha gives you the biggest bang for your buck. I suggest look up the prices of guns that interest you, add a barrell and plus whatever else you want/need to equal $250.00 and that's your gun. You can't go wrong with any of tippmanns.

Sp1 $150 doesn't need any ups right out of the box
leaves $100 for DXS aluminum air tank and remote line, or a stock and adapter, or an new barrel $30-55 and a hopper that is not on all the time.

chaibill,

You've tried to talk people into buying an SP1 in four separate threads, yet you admit . . .

. . . in forum_posts.asp?TID=174945&PN=1 - this thread that you don't even own one.  Suggesting a marker based on a good experience with it is one thing; suggesting it based on what you read in the advertising copy is a different matter entirely.

You should probably quit pimpin' for SP until you have actually purchased/used the marker in question.

I am including links to the threads in question and am also going to paste this post in every thread as a "heads-up" to those who may be mislead into thinking your advice is based on experience.

Is this your experience with the marker or are you blindly following the hype of others?  We prefer hands-on or other practical experience when giving advice about markers.  Please save your advice until you actually have the marker in your possession and have given it a proper performance shakedown.

Wow. People: THIS IS A FORUM. what does this mean? IT MEANS YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO THINK ABOUT, PROOFREAD, AND SPELL-CHECK YOUR FREAKING POSTS. Reading through this thread, with the exception of a few, is like trying to decipher a word jumble. Makes a lot of people not care enough to actually respond. Grammar, punctuation and spelling go a long way.

As for the topic at hand, more information is needed. A plethora of markers and gear are available to you at $250. For all around use, and personal preference, I'd have to say get a 98 Custom. That will give you enough money to actually take it out and play...

But my friend has an A-5, and I have used it a few times. It's bone-stock with the exception of a Flatline, and he swears by it. I myself greatly enjoy using it, but I can't compare it to a 98, because I haven't owned one.
