You get used to it. I barely even feel hits anymore, and all I wear when I play are a pair of pants and a jersey.

The adrenaline thing I can't help you with. Maybe it wasn't the right scenario. Maybe paintball just isn't your thing.
But as for the hits, I find the adrenaline part helps. When I get really into a game, and I get shot out, I don't think, "Ow, that hurt." I'm more concerned with the fact that, "That was a stupid move I made," or, "I was SOOO close!" After a while of play, a hit doesn't hurt me anymore, it just says, "You suck, do better next time."

of course there are always shots that hit sensitive areas that always sting like hell! Your neck, ball, fingers, ass, back of your thigh, these spots always sting. So get a jock strap.

You dont always get the adrenaline rush. I know I had a game in a scenario setup where it was me vs 3 others and instead of adrenaline I got really calm. The calm actually helped me to have better control and I ended up taking them all out one by one without them even knowing where I was. It depends on the situation. As for the pain it will sting but you get used to it. The only advice I can say is get some cut off fingered gloves. the ones with the plastic on the outside that are really cheap work well. Also I like to use a neck protector b/c the neck shots hurt.

In the summer, when Alabama turns into the jungle with temperatures in the upper 90's, some of us idiots go play in shorts and t-shirts just to stay cool. You get used to the feeling eventually. My tip is to play more and (as bad as this sounds) take more hits. You will eventually quit thinking about getting hit because you aren't afraid of it anymore. You will enjoy the game more if you are less concerned about taking painful hits. I don't even think about it anymore. I am more concerned about getting scratched up by briars and crap because I wasn't smart enough to wear a long sleeved shirt...

As has been said, if you keep playing there will be a point where you hardly even feel it when you get shot. Fingers and the neck will pretty much always hurt. They make Neck Protectors and gloves for that though. I don't use either, because I am used to it.
The adrenaline rush thing is completely different. Maybe it's because you were playing 1v1. Try to make it to a real field one day and play with a bunch of people on both teams.

Ball? You only have one of them? That might explain why I have three of them.

Bah, when you're on the move and jukin' and jivin', if you get hit it doesn't hurt, you're too psyched to be in pain unless of course you get smashed in the twig & berries!

Loose clothing alway helps, as does playing at a field. Betcha your amigo's marker wasn't chrono'ed.
Plus, 1 on 1 (LMAO) is never that fun.
(only on paintball forums would people take it that way)

Its fine when your adrenaline is pumping but when I feel it a ot is the next day. Thats when I look at myself and say I look like a Christmas tree because I have so many red marks on me.

the subject may be dead, but i always seem to play with newbies, and thats always the first question. frankly it's always my pride/ego that hurt more then my body. generally if yuo run and gun, you will only take shots in the mid section, and it's not to bad.
also i don't think about my pain, i think about THEIR pain!

It isnt that painful, to me taking a solid hit is nothing more than getting snapped with a rubber band. It just makes you say 'Well, I screwed THAT up' Unless you take a hit on a very bad spot like the throat, fingers, etc, its never that bad.
If it hurts more than that, when you arent getting hit in a sensitive spot, something is wrong. Are you playing on a field where people are required to chrono their gun speed? A 300fps hit isnt that bad, but if someone is an idiot and is shooting hot, it can hurt alot more.

God, the last time I played a scenario game (Two weeks ago? Already?) I got hit a bunch of times, but never paid most of them any mind. The only time I can remember uttering an audible 'ouch' was when I took a string of three shots directly to the knee, and even that wasn't enough to cause a limp off the field.
The next day, I saw bruises on me that I didn't remember even getting.
Yes, you get used to it. There are times when you'll even do things on the field EXPECTING to get hit. (last stands, charges, etc) Most of the time, when I play, I don't want to get hit because I don't like walking to the dead zone, not because I'm afraid to get hurt.
