The girlfriend and room-mate are both out of town visiting their college friend and her husband. I have the house to myself. I have a fridge full of beer, and this is what I did this morning when I rolled out of bed at 9:30AM
I paddled around Dyke Marsh on the Potomac for about 2 hours this morning. The third picture down, you can make out a rather fuzzy Great Blue Herron. I saw about 6 of them on the marsh today. I also saw Baltimore Orioles and Red-Winged blackbirds as well as a ton of other birds I couldn't identify. There were a few hawks and Eagles about as well. I also saw a few water snakes and some big freaking turtles as well. ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

Sounds like fun. I can't wait to get my canoe out (no kayak of my own yet) and take it around Lake Wilhelm or down the Allegheny or Clarion. Very few things beat a day out on a river/lake/marsh/etc. I think I've got a few river/camping outages lined up for the summer. ------------- Pumpker'd; (V.) I've found that if the weather is pleasant enough, you can pull the trunk-mat out of the back and find a nice secluded spot. Mind you, I did that in late November in upstate NY while it was misting out, but it worked! ------------- <Removed overly wide sig. Tsk, you know better.> |

I don't know if this is his case, but working nights is a <female dog>. I haven't had a real "morning" in months (unless you count being awake at 7am from working the graveyard shift). I'm finally getting some 1st shifts this week though. And hopefully, I won't be scheduled for another 14 hour day next week (got out at 6am, went back at 2pm). Hooray for a quasi-normal sleep schedule! -------------

And missing the opportunity to hang out with the infamous BigAl? Well... I can say without a doubt that your Saturday morning was better than my Saturday morning. Mine was spent in a hospital room in Camden NJ. But at least I got to say hello to Evil Fran, BigAl and others Friday night.
