They didn't waste any time. I checked my ATM balance this morning and it was a good chunk more than I thought it was. Online statement shows the $1200 deposit made today. Anyone have plans for theirs? I already put part of mine to good use and bought a blue emergency light for my Blazer. The rest.....remains to be seen. I should probably let my wife buy something nice, since half of that money is hers.  ------------- ? |

I got mine early because I E-filed and I went for the direct deposit option for my refund. That sped up the process for me, coupled with the fact that i have a relatively low set of digits for my SSN. ------------- ? |

I'm still trying to be unlazy enough to stand in line at the bank and deposit my regular refund of $458 which will most likely pay off the remaining balance on one of my credit cards or at least take a good chunk of it down. Once I get the extra $600 I'll put it to use on any remaining balance of that card and use the rest to pay down my Snap-On tool account. custom rig q6600 (quad 2.4) havent overclocked yet 4gb ram 2x250gb seagate sata raid 0 evga 7950gt overclocked 512mb (replacing with the gx2) i play source/crysis/cod4/bf2/fear/ and a crapload of single player games, you? |

Heh... Pentium 4 (3.0GHz) 1 GB RAM 160GB Barracuda Sapphire Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB About the only game is runs smoothly is HL2, and some Delta Force games. I stick to my PS3 for gaming. -------------

I've got COD4, GTA IV, RB6V & RBSV2, COD3, Oblivion + Shivering Isles, Rock Band, and Medal of Honor Airebourne. Although the only games I really play often are COD4 and GTA IV. -------------

Meh, the GX2 is overrated. I would much rather have 2 9800GTX's. My Rig: Case: Antec 900 PSU: Antec 550w Modular Mobo: ASUS P5E X38 CPU: q6600 G0 stepping overclocked to 3.0ghz Graphics: Diamond Radeon HD3870 RAM: Geil EVO ONE 4gb @ 1066. I have yet to overclock it. HDD: 2 Samsung 500gb in RAID 0, Excelstor 160 gb for backups. -------------

I'm running XP x64. What does that have to do with anything? And its not $200 more. I just looked around and found some 9800 GTX's for 250. So maybe a hundred more, and you get the proformance of a true SLI rig. The reason why I know this is one of my friends has a GX2, and my boss has 2 GTX's. The two GTX's out preform the GX2. Technology for daul chip cards isn't good enough yet for them to preform anywhere close to 2 single chip cards.

oops, i read 8800 gtx and im not running vista so i cant run SLI, Xp gets better frame rates than vista with the same setup anyway *edit* check this out. they tested a bunch of cards vs each other on crysis and found that SLI 8800gt's(same benchmarks as 9800tgx's) is indeed slower than the gx2 by ~20fps at 1920/1200. the gx2 is the only card there that didnt lose frame rate as the resolution went up. http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/xfx_9800gx2/6.htm im willing to bet the reason your freinds comp is faster with sli 9800's is because of other reasons |

You can run SLI in XP... Vista has nothing to do with SLI... XP only gets better framerates because you are ultilizing DirectX 9c. DirectX 10.1 is a whole different ballgame. -------------

Um, no. The 8800GT is nowhere close to the 9800GTX's. Look at the specs. The 8800GT is more comparable to the 9600GT than the 9800GTX. The only reason why the 8800GT is even close (currently) to the 9800GTX is because the drivers are not completely fixed yet. The 9800GTX wasn't even tested in the benchmarks. I suggest you find a test that matches the 9800GTX in 2-way SLI against a single 9800GX2. Two GTX's will outpreform the GX2 any day of the week. 8800GT =/= 9800GTX. They are two completely different cards. -------------
