Good movie, real good if your into the comic books becuase it matched almost flawlessly, and deceant if you don't know any of the story becuase it explains the majority. Pleanty of comic relief in the characters and the storyline was driving and kept you at the edge of your seat. I recommend this movie highly and if you do go see it stick around till the end for a suprise.

Trying to find someone to watch it with me today. GF has to work and I'm on leave so the best time to watch some mindless action movies. And everyone else I know is busy.

Oh well.

Looking forwards to it.

I thought it was pretty good, but not as great as I expected. Honestly, I
think they could have made tjis movie better, but the background info was
needed.

Plus, it was just a bad day, when we were in the parking lot for the
movies at the mall, my friend hit a tree and his Cobalt is done for.

How do you hit a tree in a parking lot...

There is a side road coming from a main road, and I don't think he
slowed down. He must have hit a puddle, slide, bounced over a curb, hit
the tree and bounced off.

He says he was only going 15, but I saw his car atleast 2 feet in the
air(front end), and Cobalt bounced (in air) past a paralell lane.

I showed my dad the pictures( reserve police) he said he was going
atleast 35. He had the car for 2 weeks, only 14k miles, its an 06.
His parents bought it for him.

Yeah, his car is done far. Air bags went off, and I forgot the name of it,
but the cross bar above the radiator, is pushed/bent back onto the
engine. Tires were really low on air too, possibly from the 5 inch curb.

Supposedly there are references to the new Hulk in Iron Man, and visa versa.

I think these two movies are supposed to start the Avengers series going into movies.

I didn't see any but I do know that the Avengers thing is probebly going to take off due to the scene at the end of Iron Man.

I saw it last night. It was awesome - easily the best superhero movie
made so far.

I mean, it's Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges... That alone should be
enough to get you to the theater.

Just went to see it and I really liked it as well. Not so mindless, and they did well to keep him out of the suit as much as they did. It really helped drive the story. Very good character establishment and consistency through the movie. They're definitely leading up to the Avengers movie and I think Stark gets a cameo in Hulk.

Comic movies are a boon for Hollywood because they're a pre-established universe and storyline, complete with fanbase, and they are built for good summer cinema from the ground up. They're easy to screw up, but a good one is a huge hit. This is a very good one.

Mild spoiler:

My big thing was reminding myself that it's a comic movie and people don't die (excepting very particular circumstances) from falling. A huge fall is just a happenstance for comic characters. Therefore, Stark would not turn into a metal suit full of gravy when he hit the ground like he did.

I knew I should have stayed after the credits.
At least in X-3 I knew to stay, Iron Man, I didn't.   Anyone willing to tell me what happens?

Not too big a deal. Samuel L. Jackson is there as Nick Fury of the Avengers. He's says he's there to tell Stark about the new world of heroes he's stepped into and about the Avenger initiative. No details, just that bit.

Oh. Still... he's there, and he talks.

Not that a sequel was in doubt.

No not really, however a geek friend of mine was talking about details, saying that a lot of movies come out back to back iron man 2, thor, captain america, and that they all lead and tie into, get this, the avengers. That should be awesome but at the same time is a massive undertaking by marvel.

I saw it tonight and it was awesome. I didn't really know much about Iron Man just that he was a super hero. I only knew him from this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_America_and_the_Avengers - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_America_and_the_Avenger s

I had played it with my cousins at our family camp. I cant wait for the next movie. The only thing that I thought was weird was that it kinda seemed like a short movie to me, but it was 2 hours long.

Bump since I saw it last night

Yeah, I didn't expect Jeff Bridges, and when he was drinking the scotch in his office I kept thinking of The Dude drinking a white russian, but they both did an amazing job. Robert Downey Jr. was spot on in this I felt, fit the character really well. Quite funny too, and not obnoxious obvious humour, just his mannerisms were witty and quick, which I enjoyed much more. I was the only person in the theatre who laughed/ noticed that the bomb that blew him up was a stark industries one. It wasn't until later when they show the stockpile and explain that it's his legacy that other people started to clue in.

When I saw the name on the bomb, I just figured they were setting up a reality that terrorists steal American weapons. I thought nothing of it until that part of the plot became more developed.

Yeah, I just thought it was funny that the bomb that hurt him was from Stark Industries. No-one seemed to even notice, or connect the giant stark logo with Tony Stark. I guess it was early enough in the movie, maybe they somehow didn't think it was his name or something.

I saw it last night as well.

I laughed at the STark bomb in the beginning too. Like Jack Carver though, I expected them to be stealing American weapons.

I actually didn't expect him out the suit at all(Michael Chiklis Fantastic 4...eh?)

For a non comic book fan I thought it was pretty good.

Also I watched the Nick Fury part online, and it was just cool to hear everyone's reaction when he says "I am Nick Fury of SHIELD, I'm here to tell you about the Avenger Initiative"

Anyone else notice in the credits that Tom Morello was a guard at some point?

Posted By: benttwig33
Date Posted: 22 May 2008 at 10:00pm
Yes, Tom merllo got his @$$ blasted in the cave.

He was the one, just as the suit was created...before it was used. He walked in as Mr. Stark was waiting for them to come in, and Morello got blasted across the room.

Also Tom morello did "Additional electric guitar" for the movie, so apparently he did all of the rock music in it.

Also, great movie...saw it twice with different groups of friends

Oh he was that dude on the right? (if you're facing them)

I was thinking "That dude looks pretty white..." I guess I was right.
