The thing most people don't think about when buying a gun is reliability, durability, and life expectancy, which is what i want to know which one of these guns is going to stand up to the elements, time and stress as much as the 98c which is rock solid? in other words how much am i going to have to spend and care for to keep it up and running properly?

I love my 98C, love it. I've gone to two scenarios since returning to the sport and beat it up just as I did a few years back. She still hums for me. Soon though, it'll finally be an A5's turn to be battle tested by me and built for it.

I have used the 98, A5, and my cuz has an X7. As far as reliability goes and durability, its a tie. I personally found it easier to care for the A5. It comes apart for field stripping easily, its easy to maintain, and it has a cyclone added to it. The X7 is nice if you want the milsim look already built in. The X7 also has a bit faster cyclone out of the box, but now by much. It is also easier to switch between semi auto and faster electro modes on the egrip than the egrip on the A5. Internally however, the 2 are identical. Then the 98. It is rock solid and reliable of course. I only had mine for a year or so and it worked great in that time but my style was more towards an A5 at that point. If you like the 98 and dont want to much as far as upgrading asthetics (just because it gets pricey) then stay with the 98. Now if you like the feel of the 98 and want milsim look at the Alpha Black. It will be having the Egrip out soon and the cyclone but inside it is a 98. The outside has simply been given the milsim look for you at a much more affordable price. I hope that helps and if you have any specific questions this is the place to ask.

Hey techietaichi if you do mod an A5 to a G36 make sure that you getthe G36c shroud, its much lighter thab the old model.

i believe the A5 has a similar full auto unless you get the APE board. if by safe you mean 3 shot pull then it hits full auto then yes it is the same. It works well and my cuz loves his especially since he bought the Egrip on it.

I've had all three (changed markers as each came out)and they are all great. My 98 (whic has battle scars) is still doing fine, I have a response trigger and a flatline berrel on it and It has never faild me. With the A5 and X7, the cyclone feed is so much better, but if you get paint in there it's hard to remove. The X7 and A5 pass all three of those facors with flying colors in my oppinion.

I own 3 98's, and love them dearly :
98 - RT
98 - E-Bolt/Flatline
98 - Platinum/Anti Chop
Have an X-7 with Apex (thinking about going RT with it) and hve been rather
pleased.
Had and ditched an A-5 (maybe I just got a dud but I hated that sucker
BAD).

a 98C with a cyclone feed is equal to an X7 or A5 in my opinion. The X7 & A5 both have the same internal workings as a 98C, which is 10+ year old technology. The only advantage to an X7 or A5 is the customizable options for looks & feel. Other than that, they are all the same gun to me.
