Subject: Hopper blocking the scope?
Date Posted: 15 May 2008 at 8:10pm

Recently bought an A5 and after having a look at it I began to wonder: "Will the hopper block the scope?"

Now, I did buy a riser for my scope, hoping it would surpass the hopper.

Here's a picture of what my gun will look like. These are the exact same parts that are going on my gun.

Can someone please tell me if the scope will fit with the hopper. Thanks muchly.

And please forgive my spelling/grammar, it's late and I'm tired.

Not sure if it will get in the way, but if it does, buy an X7 hopper. That'll clear it up for you.

Think I'll have to buy an offset for my hopper?

not with the X7 hopper, its already offset, though it has a lower profile.

Wait till you get the sight and riser to see though.

Alright. I'll keep you up to date then. It's on the A5 by the way. (did I say that in the OP?)

I would imagine with the cyclone being off to the side of the A5 that the hopper wouldn't get in the way of the sight.  Probably depends how high the sight is though, as the hopper is kind of rounded.  I would have to go check mine out to see how much clearance it should have.

The X7 hopper is much lower profile the the standard A5 hopper, but I believe it's much wider too.

I can't imagine it being a problem.

It looks as though it will block the scope. The standard hopper on the A5 is pretty big.

I might have to go with http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/thefireinme/Myspace%20Paintball/T3A5Hopper.jpg - this.

Or, just get a riser with side mounts and mount the scope that way. Check out techie's gun.

The X7 is longer, but already offset

Better choice than the ugly offset hoppers IMO.

i think the x7 hopper is your best bet, the worst thing you might have to do is move back the scope.

I agree.  The x7 hopper is a great add on since it is offset and low profile.  it doesnt stick up nearly as much as the stock one and if you get the offset tube thing then it only raises the hopper more giving the other side a larger target to hit.

Hey Kiittyy, yes your hopper will get in the way of your scope. I had the exact same problem. A hopper offset will solve this problem. However as I have a similar marker setup your mask may prevent you from using a top mounted scope. The g36 stock helps, but I suggest getting an offest and mounting it upsidedown like this.

Actually, I bought the G36 stock and it fits great with my mask.
