The gas line sounds like it needs to be tightened some and if you can't get it to seat nice and tight teflon tape the threads. The power tube probably isn't lined up right, just wiggle it around some until your screws go straight down. Try to screw 'em in at an angle and they won't. Good luck.

Leaking out the barrel and the cocking slot can be several things.

  • If the marker isn't cocked when this is happening, cock the marker and see if the leak stops.
    • Sometimes the mainspring is strong enough that it can prevent the cup seal from completely sealing if the hammer is putting pressure on the valve stem.
  • I doubt that it is the hose.
    • Normally a hose leak will be out the bottom of the marker.
    • For air to come out the barrel and cocking slot it has to be coming through the valve.
    • Try oiling and firing the marker.
      • Sometimes simple lubrication is sufficient to correct this situation.  (For lube instructions refer to the paintball 101 post stickied at the top of the New Players forum.)
      • If this doesn't do the trick, you may need a new cup seal.
All of the advice above is based on the assumption that you have a marker that is still stock.  If you don't, you should post a list of the modifications that have been made to it and wait for additional advice before trying any of the above.
