I'm graduating from highschool on the 7th and as you all know people like to send you money. With my money and some I've saved I will purchusing a new motorcycle. I was wondering what people think about the three models I am deciding from. Feel free to suggest other makes/models.
Honda CBR600RR (My favorite)

Yamaha YZF-R6

Triumph Daytona 675

If I could find a triumph that hasn't been stunted around my area then I would get it, but they're hard to come by. I would just wait till I found one but with me going to Basic in September I'd like to get some ride time in incase I get sent somewhere like japan where I can't ride.
Edit: Am an organ donor, but I'm not into going real fast, or doing stupid stunts, I enjoy riding to ride. And 40 MPG will be nice. People don't beleive me when I tell them this for some reason. lol

also the triumph will be a bit more unique than the honda or yamaha

The rareness of the triumph is also why I would prefer this bike. But everybody around here rides honda and yamaha so cheap used bikes aren't hard to find.

My aunt loaned me her Ninja 250 for most of the summer last year. I know how to ride, but I'm not awesome. I'll be spending lots of parking lot time, and empty road riding before I get very serious.

If I were to go out and buy a bike, I'd probably buy a V-Rod(I hate that radiator though) or the new HD Crossbones.
I think I just ruined all of my credibility in this thread if I didn't already.

Harleys are very nice, but are nothing more than toys. They run on premium gas, and average 20 MPG, at least that's what my dad* told me. I'd stick with a lower-powered crotcher for fun, fashionable functionality.
*He owned a 90's model Road King, so I don't know if this information is up to date, but I feel it is.
PS: Go Triumph.

Not for us Milwaukee folks. I know some of the folks that designed the V-Rod. A bit controversial at the time, but pretty awesome bike. Don't know as much about the Crossbones.
Around here, "bike" means Harley.

I've got 2grand. Haven't graduated yet but sisters graduated recently and they recieved 2,500 from the same people I sent invitations to. And I only plan on spending 4k but I'll spend 300 on a safety class, and some on helmet and jacket.

Because, you say that now. Your opinion will change once you ride that beast for a week. You will try and show off and wreck it, you wont admit to it now but you will. "hmm if first gear is good to 50 mph, wonder how fast 4th or 5th is at the red line"
A 250 for a summer does not mean your ready for a big boys bike yet. Buy a used 250 and ride it for another year then step up. With a 250 you will be able to sell it for what you bought it for... If you don't wreck it.

I wish I could afford a bike :( I had a lot of interest in one when I was younger, but then it kind of died off, but sometimes I think it'd be really nice in the summer, and so good on gas.

First bike? If so, get something in a smaller CC. 600 is WAY to large to start out on with the first two models. a Triumph would be different as they handle differently. I started on a Ninja 250, moved up to a YZF-R6 anniversary edition, and now ride an R1. Love Yamahas.

Wow, good threads going on. First a WRX now these nice bikes. I wish my parents loved me this much or not at all. If you catch my drift.
It seems you have some riding experience (aka none). But regardless of what you buy bike wise. There are two types of riders. Those have crashed, and those who are going to.
So spend at least $600 on a Shoei or Arai helmet. $200 on jacket. And $50 or so on a good pair of gloves. And WEAR THEM AT ALL TIMES!!!!
If the bike is newer than 2002, your going to want full coverage (have fun with the insurance payments). Because your going to lay the bike down.
And don't ever think about buying a liter (litre) bike. You will never out ride a 600 in your lifetime. (If you only ride street.

My parents own a campground that i've grown up on. So I have a lot of family friends that are rich and have known me since I was in diapers, so thats where all the money comes from.
If I could buy like a 350 or 400cc bike that looked decent I would def. go that route, but this bike is going to stay with me for a long time, unless I wreck it.

I want a bike so bad. It blows, I could buy one in cash tomorrow but my padres won't let me. "There's not enough between you and the pavement". With that put aside, I would go for the CBR out of those 3 choices, but my all time pick is a GSX-R.

I'd recommend taking a MSF course first. Then, if you are still eager to ride, get a used bike. A 250 Ninja is not a bad idea, especially the new 2008s which, after 20 years, finally look like 'sport bikes.' I'm on my first bike which is a 600cc and I feel comfortable enough on that platform and will be for a while.
I say get a used bike, because chances are it will go down again - albeit just toppling over in your garage or something to that effect. In which case, I don't recommend a brand-new, garage queen where you may be heartbroken if it goes down even ever-so-slightly.
The money you save buying used can go towards getting a used car or truck for days when you cannot ride - inclement whether, days you need to haul even groceries, etc.
Good luck to ya and ride safe!

I have a truck already so thats not an issue. I'm not going to be putting insurance in my name because it will 400 a month if i went that route, opposed to 97 in my dads name. A friend down Florida way might sell me his Kawasaki ZZR600 for a good deal. Buying a new bike isn't going to happen at all.
Not related at all, but graduation is two weeks away and I have already gotten 200 bucks. Why in the world do people send you money for graduating?

That's cool then re: the truck you already have. Definitely a plus if you have a bike.
Kawi ZZR600s are sweet bikes man. Looks and performance for a decent price point. The riding position doesn't look too aggressive, yet it is still a sport bike. The only little quirk that gets me about those bikes is the fact that they're carbureted even to this day with the 2008 models. As much as I like these Kawis and the new 250s, the carb issue kinda kills it for me.
In my search for my first sportbike, I integrated fuel injection into my search just for ease-of-use and reliability, especially if looking for a used bike.
But all-in-all the choice is yours. And if the price is that good, then run with what ya got.
***
Edit: Oh, and I recommend:
1.) 2001-up Honda F4i - 600cc sport bikes that are built like tanks. Can't beat Honda reliability. Very forgiving, especially for first timers. Parts are plentiful as it is the stunt bike rider's choice.
2.) 2001-up Suzuki GSX-R 600cc. It's my first bike. It does have somewhat of an aggressive seating position and isn't quite as forgiving as the F4i, but handles better. A nice plus is that they also come with steering dampers stock which also aid in the handling of this bike. Parts are common and cheap for this bike as it is the 'Honda Civic' of the sport bike community.
