Surely you can't believe that this is realistic.

How many forumers are you looking at?

Because it would be a billion times more economical to take a bus (or even fly commercial)

It would be very expensive.

Like I said, you'd be better off takign a bus or flying commercial.

Tried but I don't know how much it would cost to rent a plane like that at wgp's club or if you even can.

I remember him talking about flying a much smaller aircraft than a 6 seater.

If he doesn't, than he would probably have to join a new club to rent one. That means entrance fees plus check ride fees. (Hundreds?)

Then you factor in the cost to rent the aircraft which is where you spend most of your cash. It is a lot of money to rent a plane for a couple hours let alone days. You are probably paying for the aircraft even as you sleep. (the local club here charges $90 an hour for their 4 seaters... the ottawa flying club is $120-$300... kingston is $140 for a 4 seater)

Then you factor in fuel which can be pretty costly.(expensive just to turn on the engines)

And landing fees or any other things he has to pay.

It is not realistic.

It cant be that hard. I steal helicopters from Helitors in Alogonquian all the time.

You can sit in storage for being so negative.

In the largest plane I can fly now, I could take 2 people + baggage, one way is about 28 hours from my airport to whitehorse.  Since I'm obligated (because I'm not a commercial pilot) to pay greater than or equal to the pro rata share, it would be about $865 a person one way.

I hope you weren't expecting anything better.

There is another plane that I could fly, and take 3 people + baggage and make the trip in 19 hours and be about $616 a person one way.

But it's also not legal for someone to ask me to fly them somewhere.

It is not legal for me to accept it is what I meant.

Because then it is still considered for hire even if I pay my share.  If I was a commercial pilot and the aircraft and I were authorized to operate under 14 CFR 135 then it would be legal.

What if you offered people to take them somewhere and they happened to just give you a nice lump of cash before you offered it to them? Would that be legal, because they aren't paying you for the trip.

They can pay me for the trip so long as I offer to take them.  But that isn't how it happened is it?

The other thing is that we have to be going somewhere for a common purpose, but I guess that requirement would be met.

So if this thread was deleted and forumers said they needed to get to so and so, you could offer them a ride. Problem solved.

Anyone who flies for a living will meet your description (not smart because they're flying for a living).  Go stand outside any airport and look for the young guys with 3 bars on their epaulets, most of those guys aren't making more than $20k a year (if that) and are flying 70 seat jets.

If you're serious you might look into a charter.

http://www.aircharterteam.com/index.php - http://www.aircharterteam.com/index.php

A King Air 350 should suit your needs nicely, and be cheaper than a jet.  Of course you could spring for a Citation X, the fastest passenger carrying civilian plane ever made, but it will cost you!
