I've heard a lot of gripes about the A1. My personal favorite is the G7 Fly. Absolutely beautiful, and a very nice marker.

I'm with inverteD on this.

Well, if you can pick up the new Fly kit for the A1, it might outdo the G7 Fly, but if you aren't planning on it, I'd say G7 Fly, or The Gat.

Basically, upgraded parts.

For the A1, I believe it comprises a new valve, ram...that might be it. Anyway, yeah, upgraded parts.

Yes, valve and ram utilizing magnets for resistance.  Their reliability is questionable, on top of the already iffy reliability of the A1.  If you feel like waiting a few months longer, APS will probably have solved the majority of problems with the A1 Fly.

As a few people here have mentioned, the G7 Fly is probably your safest bet.  Its an extremely solid performer that is slightly more reliable than the A1, but also costs nearly as much and even sometimes more than the A1 for an older marker.

Just keep in mind however, Angels past the A4 Fly era are pretty similar in performance, you can't really go wrong with any of them.  I currently own a like new A4 Fly and it can keep up with the best of today's markers.

^^^ How ya figure? I've seen G7 Flys going for $350, and stock G7's going for $300. Both are amazing guns.

I agree with this part.  There are obviously tweaks and improvements, but unless you are a serious tournament player, I suspect you will find the differences in Angels starting with the A4 Fly mostly a matter of personal preference - which is true of all high-end guns anyway.

Depends on the condition.  Because of how common the A1 is now (compared to finding a G7 Fly), a G7 Fly in pristine condition can often fetch as much as some A1's I see for sale.  Usually one of the team models can fetch more if its pretty mint.

EDIT: If you look around, you can get used A1's in decent condition for $400-$450.

Well, a G7 Fly in like new condition is better than an A1, so...
