Subject: Woodsball Gear
Date Posted: 11 June 2008 at 11:28pm
Unlike in my last topic i created my manners or attitude towards the people on this board or its rules, i will do my best to be on my best behavior

The following is what i plan to purchase soon, i am asking advice and suggestions from the Tippmann forum to help me alter anything if needed or even helpful for me.

Since i could not find most of the things that were appealing to me at other sites Tippmann's "Where To Buy" option suggested me to look, i have decided to go for PunisherPB. (http://www.punisherspb.com/)
------------------------------------------------------------
The following are the goggles/masks that have gotten my attention. I ask that you tell which of the following is the best and which others that are not listed do you recommend.

1. Dye Pro I3 Paintball Goggles - Black
http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-pro-i3-paintball-goggles-blac k.aspx

2. JT Headcase Goggle - Black
http://www.punisherspb.com/jt-headcase-goggle-black.aspx

3. JT USA Spectra Flex 8 Full Coverage Paintball Goggle - Grey
http://www.punisherspb.com/jt-usa-spectra-flex-8-full-covera ge-paintball-goggle-grey.aspx

http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-c8-paintball-jersey-grey.aspx

3. Dye C8 Paintball Pants - Grey
http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-c8-paintball-pants-grey.aspx
------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the piece of equipment itself. The following is the paintball gun i plan to purchase as well as parts for it. You tell me if its any good and if their are any barrels or mods on the site used to upgrade this to be used as a stealth pant

1. US Army Alpha EGrip Tactical Paintball Gun - Black

http://www.punisherspb.com/us-army-alpha-egrip-tactical-pain tball-gun-black.aspx

2. Extreme Rage 200rd. Hopper - Black

http://www.punisherspb.com/extreme-rage-200rd-hopper-black.a spx

3. PMI Coiled Remote with Slide Check

4. Pure Energy 20oz Aluminum CO2 Tank

http://www.punisherspb.com/pure-energy-20oz-aluminum-co2-tan k.aspx

5. Dye 07 Tank Cover - Grey

http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-07-tank-cover-grey.aspx
------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the paints container. Here are the following look decent. As for holsters please recommend a few for the pods as i am having trouble deciding on which for the following pods. Please select from the site mentioned and used.

1. Dye Lock Lid Pods - Smoke

http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-lock-lid-pods-smoke.aspx

2. Dye Pod Bag

http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-pod-bag.aspx
------------------------------------------------------------
Paint is the most important thing to a gun. I haven't selected any because i have never paid attention to the paint used and as i need paint just for my gun for a woodsball playing.
From the following which is the better paint for the situation?
DraXxus or PMI/RPS?

If for DraXxus, which from Diablo Blaze or Diablo Midnight?
If for PMI/RPS, which from All Star, Stinger, Marbalizer, or Menace?

PMI/RPS:
http://www.punisherspb.com/pmi-rps_2038.aspx
DraXxus:
http://www.punisherspb.com/draxxus_2035.aspx
------------------------------------------------------------
As i will along with friends be walking towards the field or location for our game in the woods, is the Dye 08 Backpacker Backpack good enough to carry my gun and its main gear other than paint?

http://www.punisherspb.com/dye-08-backpacker-backpack.aspx
------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for your time and i hope that from any comments and suggestions posted/listed i can finally look forward to a good day. If some stuff that are supposed to work together but dont match in my post please link me up with a direct link to something that is better or a match or even a must for paintball players. Be reminded that i plan on purchasing from PunisherPB. I would certainly accept links from their.

Also if i have any questions later on i will reply to your post in this topic.

PS: What shoes should i wear when i play woodsball?

Currently i have Steel Toe Shoes Not Boots. I have mobility but it is restricted due to the steel.

You really should consider an electric hopper if you're going with the e-gripped AB.

Get an electro hopper.  If you plan on getting a faster gun in the future you might want to get a Halo or something.  If you get a fast hopper I suggest getting one with adjustable force and/or speed for your current gun.

you dont really need the tank cover on co2. o and you have a woodsball gun with speedball looking clothes. if your going with a milsim looking gun why not go all out and get digital camo jacket, pants and a vest with pod holders and a place for the c02 with remote line

QFT.  Depending upon the cover, some of them can slow the heat transfer between the CO2 in the tank and the exterior environment.  This results in less evaporated CO2 (gas) being available for firing and can result in marker malfunctions.

As new as you seem to be to the sport, I suggest you check out http://www.tippmann.com/forum/wwf77a/forum_posts.asp?TID=163015&PN=1 - this post.

As far as paint goes get a Python kit for your stock barrel and you should be able to match paint even with the front guard on your gun.

Can you adjust where the front shroud sits?

I would suggest a mask with some sort of switchable lens system, so you can swap lenses based on where you're playing and weather conditions.

Nothing is worse for paintball than having the sun glaring in your eyes as you're trying to pick out your target.  Something like the Proto Switch.

If you're playing mainly woodsball, I would get some camo too, like Paintball430785 suggested, they'll work for speedball as well, actually, anything you can move in will work for speedball.

We're not really in the "hand-feeding" business here.  Most of us expect you to figure out what you want based on the combined advice of the forum members then go out and locate the actual merchandise yourself.  I can't say that I have a lot of sympathy for those who are unwilling/unable to do so.

if i were you i would get a jt enforcer it has changeable lens you can even add a little fan vent thing plus it has a visor and is anti fog. if your lookin for woods ball gear, a speedball jersey   sticks out like a person with down syndrome. i would get what i said before about the digital camo

action village doesnt have the Alpha black and i will look for  some good stuff.i think what imn really concerned is the range. barrell, and a mask.

Posted By: paintball437085
Date Posted: 12 June 2008 at 7:37pm
if your lookin for range i dont think it has apex our flatline. so you should consider tippmann a5 our 98c. the flatline basically gives it backspin. apex (havent used one) you can adjust the curves and dives by turning it

Write this down.

Python Compression kit and an Apex barrel.

The Python kit should also drastically improve accuracy of the stock barrel.  Better than a JJ or Bigshot with a poor ball match. This takes care of range and barrel.

JT Spectra thermal is an excellent mask.  And for the love of God don't get an Enforcer mask.

I'm out of the loop on pricing.  You might have to do your homework to find that out.

Try Action Village for starters

Here's my top secret woodsball sniper rifle.  Code name Alpha Victor Victor Lima Sierra.

Instead of a co2 tank get an HPA tank because co2 can/will ruin the internals of your gun.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alc0650GY0w - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alc0650GY0w

The cheapest I found was about $60-$70.

be carefull with the python kit, although it is true that a good bore match may increase distance but if you play in a humid area your paintballs will swell. Also many loader put so much pressure on the paintballs that is can warp them. theres no need to have a .686 barrel, why do you think the ego 08 has a .693 bore? its not that much of a difference, barely even noticeable but its enough to not break paint in the barrel.

Don't believe everything you see on the internet.

Facts:
  • The Tippmann CVX valve is designed to operate off of CO2.  Using CO2 in a stock Tippmann based marker will not cause damage.
  • Using CO2 in an electro-pneumatic marker can lead to problems.
  • Compressed air, because of it's steady output pressure will generally provide a more consistent propellant source for paintball.
    • However, the average recreational player would never really notice the difference and may find that, based on when and where they play, that compressed air is inconvenient/excessively expensive for the advantage it provides.
    • They also may find, if they tend to play year round in colder climates, that compressed air is a "must" for their specific usage.
    • CO2 maintains the advantage of providing more shots per comparable tank size than compressed air when playing in normal Spring/Summer conditions.  This can be an advantage when air fills aren't readily available.
    • Also, multiple CO2 tanks are significantly cheaper than multiple compressed air tanks.
    • Under normal playing conditions the disadvantages of CO2 (temperature sensitivity, vaporization rate, liquid intake into marker, etc.) can all be mitigated to the point of being non-issues with the use of an expansion chamber or remote line.
Bottom line:  Is compressed air better?  It depends on the needs of the player/marker.  Someone who owns a high-end electro-pneumatic marker and plays at professionally operated fields should definitely be using it.  Someone who plays "outlaw" occasionally in the summer probably doesn't really have a need for it and may find it inconvenient.  All the folks in between need to work it out for themselves rather than allowing some guy on the internet to tell them what to do.

V-Force Profiler Thermal Paintball Goggles VS
V-Force Profiler SE Thermal Paintball Goggles

I am wondering from both of this masks which is the best? I have been looking around the web and youtube and i have heard that the V-Force Profiler is supposed to be one of the best masks. Since im low on budget and stuff i decided not to go for the $80 and above masks.

Is this a good mask and if so whivh from those above. like i dont know the difference between a regular one and SE.

I recently had to get glasses since of my vision/

Or from

Proto Switch FS Single Paintball Goggles - Camo

I just wondering which is best and protects ones ears.
