Wow, what has happend to this forum? It seams that ever since school got out this place has gone in the dumps. We have Bland acting as young as he looks, Da Hui Failing left right and center .357 ... well I guess he is getting better. All these fail filled threads are killing this forum. Brihard should just stamp the whole first page of T&0. And not to mention we need Tallen back. -------------

The swastika was around for many long centuries before nazi germany went and stole it. Most cultures have some version of a swastika somewhere in thier traditions. The symbol was most likely Hindu in origin, but a good number of people think it could have been Nordic as well. Yea, it's never really been to good. I remember when I first joined it wasn't bad. I got along fine with people ect. I took a break, came back and it's been a huge argument every since. But I know I've gotten a little better than I had in the past. While searching for something I've come across some pretty dumb ass stuff I have posted in the past.

It started when Da Hui had a rebel flag in his avatar. He tried giving the "heritage not hate" argument. Subsequently, Ahkmed put the swastika in his avatar (I assume) to make the point that while there can be another meaning, people will pretty much always assume you are just putting it there because you are a racist toolbag. Then Da Hui put it in his avatar for God knows what reason. Probably to be a racist tool bag. |

Oh I get that, I was talking in general about it. One of my pet peeves is seeing people fly off the handle whenever they see a swastika. 9/10 times they have no idea where it came from, the other 1/10th know but still refuse to believe that the person using it isn't being racist about it...even when the person using it IS Hindu/Nordic/French/Greek/one of the other couple dozen cultures. It's just so stupid to get upset over it. I remember back in the good ol' days when takin a foxy young lady to the movie theater cost only a nickel (and you would be damned lucky if she showed you her brazier). We walked to school 6 miles, up hill both ways, in 3 feet of snow. Used to be -12 degrees (happy), and with the wind chill, cold enough to freeze your knickers together. But we liked it, and It helped build character. You kids these days got it easy with your xcubes and videoboxes playin with that fancy shmancy interweb. I tell ya, this god damn forum has gone to hell quicker than my bran muffins run through me, I tell ya... -------------

If I may rant slightly, I've seen about a zillion of these threads, and sometimes agree with them to an extent, but if you hang around things typically pick back up. If I may critique the forum, my current beef with it is that so many posts are youtube links, and 4chan memes. While I'm glad that there are enough people willing to declare such links as being full of fail or we'd still be at a state where more half the first page was stupid youtube vids, threads have a way of descending into back and forth name calling bordering on harassment, or circular and semantic debates(see any debate involving carl) that provide no new information. This place has been bother better and worse since I've been here, but the way threads typically devolve to a point where nobody has anything to contribute actually wants to hurt this place. I understand that some newer members, idiots, and trolls need to be guided in the right direction, but instead of rebuking them, how about leading by example as well? In short: -Too much content of this forum is not original, we need another MS paint contest or something to let forumers show skills beyond using a search engine. - The constant chiding goes too far sometimes. Instead of pulling the discussion back on course or adding something useful to balance out a stupid statement, a thread can go on for pages with people trying to get in the best one-liner, and for several pages of fail after the penultimate one-liner has been made trying to top it. It's more about crapping on each other than discussing something and possibly learning from that discussion. -carl sucks. - If you don't care about a thread topic and having nothing to do, instead of posting about how you don't care, just touch yourself or something. Don't start a mindless exchange of insults then bork the thread when it goes completely to hell. -If you do I will bork your mom. - I already borked your sister. Just my 0.2, but like it's been said the forum goes through phases. To the OP, unless your going on the fact of double negatives = a positive, starting a thread complaining of "fail" when in fact your thread is fail, your not helping the situation.
I think lately, forums in general have slumped a bit. My favorite forum (yes, I'm here now, it's my plan B) AFFORUMS.com, has been temporarily shutdown due to a bunch of members going to military.com forums and relentlessly attacking members over there in ridiculous, childish ways that brought shame to the people who represent the USAF. It got carried away like any debate here that turns into an argument, then a fecal matter war and then intensive crying in a corner alone in the dark. Followed by a thread complaining of fail looking for an explanation. In theory you somewhat answered your own question and started the process all over again. It'll pick up, you young kids will see.

we just need to do more fun things. that's all. i mean, i enjoyed coming to this forum because it was full of witty people. we used to make each other laugh because we would be creative and create inside jokes out of paint of photoshop. it was hilarious. we still have the same people that used to do all that.
now, we are all getting lazy and doing nothing but post lame youtube vids and news articles. yes, there have been some good threads over them, but i'll just go to youtube of a news site to get all that. i want to come here and laugh and see all the cleverness that it used to be. -------------

Meh, I've been through two long waves of "regulars" posting avidly-complaining- and never coming back.
This too will come to pass and I'll have to see it again in another year or so. You know you've been here too long when you know what the apple butter dance is. Besides, I only stick around cause I hear the hellhound is going up for sale and Dredly is going to announce it on here first.
