phantoms are good. comman "upgrades" are a stock class body, 45 grip and vert 12gram.

Just buy a 12-gram changer, and then you'll have to have someone whip you up a custom 10-ball feed tube, because it doesn't have a stock class feed on it.

Beautiful gun.  I love acid wash.  The only thing I would do would get a 12 gram changer, even a 3.5oz CO2 would work, and a custom stick ball feeder.

Nice gun.

check out wevo, and you can buy anything and everything phantom.

wevopaintball.com i think, i'd hit it with a stock class body and feed tube, you can also get your 12gram there same color

heres mine, love it

just messing around with it because i shot it for the first time today and found out that its actually really accurate...

good?

(for the record i really dont intend on keeping the 12 oz tank or the regular size hopper... but i may keep the red dot when the stock comes in if it looks good)

they are the most accurate guns, but they arent better than any other gun, i think what makes them accuate is how ergonomic they are, and the fact that you aim it helps. and this was my first phantom, and it is my vsc setup, more beat up but the stroke is smoother

also, i like the m16 frame better. but thats preference

^^^tighten that screw.

First upgrade is you need to buy some detent rings asap.  get two kits, they're easy to lose.  3.5oz tanks are magnificent also.  Never need rehydroed and much more cost efficient than the 12 grams.

you also need a trigger shoe, otherwise your finger will get a bit raw...  but all these are pretty cheap parts.

yea, but the 12 gram is awesome. just look at that gun above, thats the whole gun, balls and all. i recomend you buy both and try it out. yea you have to screw in a tank more often but you get used to that. also like i said that phantom is torn up, and the screw is missing and had to replace with that from my field. but i've already replaced it. lol

ya the detent rings are deffinitely on the grocery list along with a stock but whether to get a 12g changer or a 3.5oz tank is the toss up. im thinking since money is getting tight i might just go with the tank and eventually order the 12 gram

12 gram changer costs 15 bucks, I didnt like the feel of the stocks, they made the gun less pistol like which was part of its allure for me( i like low crawling and diving). Also, yes detent rings are important unless, And I stress unless..... you get the stock barrel bored out to accept freak inserts, ugh. I know, is your mind blown?

Posted By: CBizzle
Date Posted: 07 July 2008 at 9:46pm

where exactly are the detent rings because i think i might have already lost one but im not really sure because im new to phantoms... yea now my heads startin to spin a little bit

since for some reason i thought the 12g changer was $30 i ordered a 3.5 oz tank instead along with the stock but im going to need to place a new order soon anyway for the rings and possibly a trigger shoe so ill probably just get it then

and also is it bad if i take the barrel off and the pump wiggles up and down? the stroke is still just as smooth but without the barrel on it wiggles quite a bit. should i oil the gun anywhere as well?

thanks and sorry i got a lot of questions

the wiggling is normal. all the gun needs is oil on the parts that move inside the gun, the hammer, bold and stuff. the 12gram is 20 bucks i just looked. also the pump will loosen up over time, but to help it along you can sit in the corner with a nice movie and pump it about 2000 times. it'll make it feel better

Phantoms don't come stock with any detents.  You can do the electrical tape mod, which works well when in a pinch.

I took off the pump return spring on my phantom.  makes the stroke extra light and smooth.  Your Phantom is still in the break-in phase, so the pump action will get smoother over time (as stated, around 2000 pumps).

they are pretty straightforward. first you size your balls, lol. by seeing which one is the best fit with each ring. like you get a ring and ball and push them through, there should be just slight resistance. then you remove your barrel and drop one into where the barrel just came from, the body?. it prolly wont go all the way in by itself, you'll need to coax it down, maybe an eraser from a pencil or something, dont force it down or you'll bend it. it needs to go down flush with how the barrell sits. you'll understand once you get them.

could anyone tell me how to adjust the velocity on a unibody?

ok i was guessing something along those lines but it just seems like it would fall out easily so i didnt want to just have it laying in there and fall out

When you remove the barrel, the appropriate ring goes in, then the barrel goes back in to hold it in place.

to adjust the velocity with a unibody you'll prolly need a phantom velocity adjuster. its this really long stick with an end that sticks into the adjuster, basically a long screwdriver

ok so heres the stock i ordered http://www.doropaintball.com/AB1038101Equick/shopexd.asp?id=8226 - http://www.doropaintball.com/AB1038101Equick/shopexd.asp?id= 8226

shouldnt that fit my phantom???  it doesnt have the 45 grip style but that one says its not for the 45 grip style

this is what was sent to me for some reason the end of the stock where it attaches to the grip looks different do you think they could have shipped the wrong thing on accident

Well either that or they just put the wrong picture on the site. talk about some false advertising

so they do make one for the standard "m16" style grip right? because if you order a gun from them it gives you the option to add a stock to the order. so when i saw that one in the parts list that said m16 L-stock i just assumed that was the one i needed

so i finally got the parts in for this baby and its just the way i like it... I didnt really go in the VSC direction but who knows down the road if i get bored i might convert it. so here it is complete:

i definitely need a 50 round hopper or something for it though that one is a bit too large

so there ya have it its finished... (probably only for a few weeks though then ill find something i want to change lol)
