What is the saddest movie scene to you?
Maybe because it is recent in my mind but I think the scene where Sam dies
in I Am Legend is a real tear jerker.

I was kinda sad in some parts of wall-e.
But by far I cannot and refuse to watch the Futurama episode where Fry's dog waits his entire life for fry to show up.
Although the movie Benders Big Score kinda made that scene ok cause you know that fry goes back in time and takes care of him.

The ending of Green Mile was very sad.
Leon's ultimate fate in The Professional is very sad, but tempered by the wicked retribution of it.
The ending to House of Flying Daggers. Epic.
Charlie (Flowers for Algernon). Holy crap, c'mon! So much loss it's hard to narrow it to a scene.
Other forms of media have gotten me too. I just read Ethan Frome, by Edith Wharton. I don't mind admitting that parts of that book made of stop and gather myself.
Some of the art installations of Julia Oschatz are awe inspiring and give me a profound sense of loss and sometimes deep sadness, but I am compelled towards them.

Same here, I think because it reminded me of my dad...even though my dad is alive nor has he even been close to death.
There was some movie with a Jack Russel Terrior and the dog gets like hit with a shovel or something I think and for a while you think the dog dies, but ends up living. That reminded me of my dog.
But for now it would be the dog dieing in I Am Legend.

Green Mile is sad as hell, not even the ending. Just the murder of the man who is so clearly good.
I would agree with Requiem for a Dream being sad, but I hate junkies.
American History X is sad as hell. Normally I wouldn't care because he was a nazi, but his brother got him to change and then he gets killed.
Gladiator so useless for him to die
I'm sure I was struck by more, but these are movies I have seen 34434342 times so they pop into my head

I was thinking the dog scene from Futurama as well. But I found Benders Big Score to be pretty sad too. The whole idea is that Fry lived the rest of his life knowing that he stil wouldn't be with Leela in the end. Of course, BwaBB ruined that when he leaves Leela a month later...
The ending of the first Spider-man, where Parker walks away from MJ. Pretty corny I know but the two made the scene work for me.
I give Band of Brothers it's props because that was just so well done. The guy that accidently shot himself with the captured Luger was the most miserable part of the series, almost as bad as the dude at the end that got drunk and shot the otehr guy in the head.
There are more, I can't think of them at the moment...

In Hardball, where Baby G dies.
In Shindler's List, when the little girl is walking into the furnace.
I actually almost cried when in Big Daddy, they were taking the kid away from Sonny. Lame, I know, but that one always gets me.
There are a few more I can't think of right now cause of the painkillers, but I'll add those in later.

I spent that movie praying that some higher power would strike Tom down for bringing down a good actor with him for filming that piece of crap movie. I'm amazed that Cruise didn't make the writers change the ending to his character singlehandedly beating the entire gunline with a fighter-jet or exploding bubble gum.
