I don't know if you guys like Milsim A5's here anymore or not, but here's the
latest from my workshop. Since I haven't posted here in forever, I just
thought I'd drop by and say "hello."

It has the Tacamo AK front end but I hate the orange stain they use. I
stripped, re-stained and sealed it with polyurethane to get a better look.
The APE-equipped EGrip gives it plenty of firepower. S

Normally not a huge fan of the A5 AK47, but this looks great! Is that a Galil stock?

Are there actually grooves in the mag or is it a sticker?

It's a "weathering" technique I do to make the guns look "used but not
abused" like the guns look that have been in combat. I appreciate the
kind comments everyone, thanks. Incidentally, the stock is not a Galil
stock, it's the Metadyne Industries folding stock, but very close to the
Galil stock.

Here's my MP5 with the same weathering technique:

Nice markers. The MP5 is pretty much what I am planning for the new A-5 I got.

The weathering is just a little too uniform for my tastes, but it does look good.

Now put an AK pistol grip and one of the standard stocks on it.

Both guns look nice.

That's exactly what it is. The military version will not fit. It's mounted to the
metal A5 RAP4 stock adapter. You've got a good eye!!

I read the specs and mounting information and I'm not positive, but it looks
possible. At $265.00 though, I'd be sure! It's a great looking stock, I've
never seen it before. The CTR is only around $98.00 or so. big difference in
price.

I've done that before and the paint tends to wear off quickly especially in hot
weather. I will probably try Duracoat in the near future and see how that
holds up. Right now though, since my hand covers it, I'll porbably wait a
while. Several years ago I did a paintjob that was to resemble carbon fiber
and I did the grip then. Here's a photo of that gun:

That looks like it came right from Rainbow Six. Matter of fact that's the set-up they should use in the coming movie.

Ok, how's this? I built this one last night and completed it Saturday
morning. A bit heavy but very intimidating. This one is hardcore milsim.
Definitely not for everyone.

First of all I want to thank all of you for the kind comments. The bolts are
socket head screws available from Home Depot or Lowe's.

I've always loved your work.  The drybrush technique always completes your milsims.  I used to have a lot of your old markers saved on my old computer back when I was more into paintball.

Very Nice Ak-47..

but i have a question i got a Tacamo Barrel and i dont know how to install it on my Tippmann A5 can you help me?

Posted By: nauzerlvr

That photo is the one I changed into the Tactical AK. Putting on the front
handguard is easy.

1. Remove the original barrel leaving the barrel adapter in place.
2. Remove both screws in the front of the receiver halves and remove the
MP5 front sight post.
3. Slide in the small rectangular pice into the hole left by removing the
MP5 sight. Remember to keep the screw hole up.
4. Atttach the metal lower hand guard retainer, put the screw through
and finger tighten at this point.
6. Attach the upper sight, with the supplied screw. Screw it into the hole.
This step might be a little tricky to get them properly lined up.
7. Properly place the upper and lower hand guards and screw in the
barrel. You'll have go loosen the two set screws in the front part of the
metal trip on the hand guard to slide it up the barrel. There are two
screws, one on each side.
8. Line up the front metal trim. Tighten the two screws.
9. Loosen the set screw holding the front sight post, rotate it into postion
then retighten.

That's all there is to it.
