i would say red dot, because at the range paintball is played you would not use really the scope, and a red dot can be easily use with both eye open,

alternitly, both can be good to i plan to have a red dot on the side of my tri rail mount and a scope on the top but only when i will have an apex (because witout and apex or flatline i dont see the use of the scope except at range where only the apex or flatline can reach

get a red dot. a scope is useless on a paintball gun. a limited field of view, slow target aquisition and sensitive to impacts. The accuracy of a paintball marker isn't like that of a rifle.

I've got a scope on my scenario gun, and it works pretty well:

So which red dot sight should I get then? I would like a durable one because
I dont want to have it break if it gets hit with a paintball.

DEFINITELY. I have never seen one perform well. I recommend Leapers/UTG. I have their 30mm "Swat Force" model. That thing has taken so many DIRECT hits, it is not even funny...just wipe it off, and move on. Dropped it from about five feet on concrete accidentally too..whoops. So far so good.

I have seen them fall apart on paintball markers after getting hit.  I have a friend who mounted one on his 12g pump for turkey hunting and in 5 shots the lens' fell out.
