Was there food in the cage?

If you lured an animal in search of food to food...mind you an animal that doesn't have the innate ability that humans do to reason and expect a trap...and then decide to put a cap in it's ass, then this is just a douche thing to do.  Also...are you really going to eat opossum?

I'm pretty sure he's scared poopless and would like to go home.

I don't know about these other guys, but my point about not shooting it was mostly because you should hang and slice for proper bleeding.  More tender meat that way and good au jus for sauce.

At least that's the way to go with bunny - I presume it works with possum as well.  And why waste a bullet when it's right there?

(That said, you are kind of a redneck.  NTTAWWT.)

It's a varmint guys, they get into trash and what not around here looking for food. Who has to clean that up ?

Also just remembered. Aren't you not supposed to shoot caged critters ? Might as well pull out an M-14 or something if he won't be in the cage. Might as well re-use it for bait. I really want to get a coyote. Would like the hide.

I also caught one of those a week ago. However my trap was in our sweet corn to catch raccoons and other animals.

You're a redneck for various things you talk about around this forum, including your redneck car, trapping innocent animals, then planning to kill them and use them as bait.  Those are only a couple things.

Truth.

You were trying to catch a coyote but didn't. Therefore you should simply let it go.

Ugh, now my dad is talking about just letting it go for now. We'll see what happens. I'm guessing he will go to let it go. It'll snarl and snap at him like it did me and He'll say screw it and night night.

I'm not really sure how what kind of car someone owes determines whether or not they are a redneck.

And is it just me, or has there been more hostility than usual on here lately?

I'd let it go.

Car preference is a major determinant of redneck-ism.  Duh.

But I don't know that there are above-average amounts of hostility here at the moment.  Many of us, like myself, may tease magnum about being a huge redneck, but that doesn't mean that we are being hostile.

While some people may view "redneck" as a huge insult, to most of us (I believe) it is merely a humorous label, like "yuppie" or "metrosexual," that acknowledges the funny parts of a particular subculture.

Maybe that's just because I am former redneck myself.  Who knows.

Speaking of rednecks - I watched Urban Justice last night.  Steven Seagal movie set in the 'hood, with Stevie beating up on rival inner-city gangbangers.

In the middle of movie there suddenly appeared a pickup truck full of bubbas, just hanging out drinking beers in the middle of Compton.  They looked like a transplant from the cast of Mississippi Burning or something.  Their purpose in the movie was to chase a young black feller in their lifted truck (hootin' and hollerin' the whole way) so that Seagal could nobly rescue the hapless boy from the evil racists.

I must say, that was about a pathetic of a plot tool as I have seen in a long time.  Very, very sad.

But rednecks hanging out at the CPT playground, taking in some b-ball action with a couple of brews?

That was a little much, even for me.

Other than that, the movie was no better or worse than all his other post-Siege movies.

I more or less gave up on Seagal when he started doing those straight-to-video movies. The one or two I saw had plots that rivaled porn.

my dad always told me not to kill an animal unless a: for food b: it hurt you. so considering opossum is not the tastiest (i prefer squirrel) let it ''hurt'' you then kill it (yes i have eaten squirrel) it was gewd

I have a possum that lives under my deck and comes up at night to eat my cats food, it always come out when I'm out on the phone or smoking, I think it thinks that I'm feeding it and we're friends, I don't know if it's a male or female so I named it Erin.
