So, basically, even though there's a filter in the first place to prevent us from seeing any foul word, even if someone writes a bad word, then edits it out, and even if they go outside the lines a little, they get boned by the long prosthetic "member" of the tippmann forum law? If "porn" were prohibited, then typing "pr0n" instead does not make it okay, since we still know exactly what you meant. It is a rule, not a spell-checker. People need to get this. I used to argue with some of that stuff. But I really don't care anymore. Are most of the rules here stupid ? Yes. Especially the whole can't post anything because of 13 year olds or whatever. Can we do anything about it ? Absolutely not. So just shut up and deal with it because there is no way in hell we can do anything to change it. -------------

I guess I'm still missing something. I made one sarcastic comment and then didn't flame back, similiar to what everyone else makes and it makes me a "toolbag." For that matter, I'm sure even the mods can agree that Tallen's responses were not as bad as others making them out to be. Although still against forum rules, there has been much worse from this forum, not worthy of three threads. Seems like small weight compared to the strikes many of these forum commentators received. |

By your thought process, they pay for everything. I think you need to take into account the fact they wouldn't even have money for a forum if it weren't for people like you and me who have spent, and occasionally continue spend money on the product. Now looking at it from that perspective, I have indeed payed for apart of this forum, therefore I hold my right to take things into the pg-13, and sometimes R rated material. There's kid's graphic novels out there that have little bubble captions above the character going "!@%#$@!%". If you think kids have never been exposed to the f or s word, or have never heard of marijuana then you're living in a dream world. I guess I fail to see the point in only enforcing the rule/law when the people enforcing it only live by it part-time. Not only is there an enormous sense of hypocrisy, but I think it's stubborn and ignorant to believe you can shield the forum from reality, and every day conversations. You might as well re-title this forum "Happy Stuff". Not Thoughts and Opinions. In summation, I am a paying customer, and I have been since I've joined the forums. So I'm going to say pg-13 stuff, god forbid someone is online without their parent and reads the word "damn" without an explanation from their guardian. I've had an account banned for language that got edited by the forum. Not even a filter dodge. I posted song lyrics. If I remember correctly Mr. beer and cookies got banned for something similar right before that. At least it was only a strike? Also, can we cry any more? ------------- Que pasa?

I would imagine the rules are more for making paintball look good than anything. Parents of young kids probably wouldn't be thrilled to see their kid come across this forum looking for help and advice and see them reading vulgar stuff. And who cares about strikes. For those of you who do have them, I really doubt you'll get more and end up banned. Only the biggest of idiots get banned on here and its not like anyone usually likes them anyways. Oh and for the record, I've never had a strike. I think I should get like 3 stars for that or something. |
