An ex-girlfriend of mine has some pictures of me (not nudez) that I would prefer that no one ever saw. She likes to send me little emails with the pictures and the phrase "remember this?" Does this qualify as blackmail or does she have to make a threat for it to cross that line?

She has to be using them to try and get you to do (or not do) something. The photographer usually has a lot of leeway to display photo's too, so you're probably screwed. -------------

I have already tried telling her I'm saving them but she claims theres nothing the cops can do about it. I just wish it would stop, this craps 4 years old. I'm smart enough now not to do some of the stuff I've done. -------------

I saw a guy accidentally set his underwear on fire trying to do that back in the mid-80's. He tumbled out of the APC screaming and stripped off his web gear, uniform pants, chem pants and underwear faster than you would believe. Being the nice guys we were, since it was night, we hit the lights/siren to attract attention and lit him up with the turret spotlight. -------------

You're boned. Simply put. She could post them on the interwebs with no consequences whatsoever. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean squat. What you need to do, is pretend like they don't bother you anymore and it may go away. She's probably doing it because you get your knickers all bunchy when she mentions the pictures. If you shrug off her attempt to get your dander up, it may not be worth anything to her anymore. THEN get her drunk and take compromising pictures with her and you. So when she flips the pictures over to people saying "Look at this idiot" You can retaliate with "Look who slept with this idiot" ------------- ? |

1. Forget about 'em. 2. Take them back. Yes, this would probably require you to break the law. Personally, I'd stick with option 1. Clearly she's just in it for kicks; unless there are legitimate legal reasons you should be worried (and given the statute of limitations on most crimes, you're fine...unless there was a body involved), I'd ignore her. |

How old were you when the pictures were taken? Cause if you were under 18, technically, she's in possession and distributing child pornography. Can she prove that? Also, ignoring her or making light of the fact that she can't let you go is your best course of action. I find it is easiest to cover up a small matter by making light of a much larger matter that means, personally, less. Making light of the larger matter casts the smaller in an insignificant light. Talking about funnier/more extreme things you've done or would like to do will make what she might have on you seem insignificant. Assuming that makes sense... -------------
