So I received my J%J ceramic barrel in the mail yesterday, and I noticed it is considerably thinner than my opsgear 16". My front sightpost won't stay on because of this. Anyone k now of a way besides tape to get the front post to stay on? Or a failing that anybody else know of a front post that will fit on a J&J barrel?

Front sightpost.....of what? do you have an M-4 hand guard with front sight? What are you running?
I had the same problem with my Alpha Black, the barrel was too narrow to snugly fit into the front sight system.
The only solution was a few layers of electrical tape that I trimmed down with an exacto after putting the sight on. You can't tell its there unless you're looking for it.....that's really the ONLY solution I came up with.

Yes I am running an C8 (canadian versian of the M4, much better). Won't the electrical tape and the exacto ruin the barrel? I've seen a flip up post that fits on a rail system but I really don't wanna spend anymore than I have to. That marker has already cost me close to seven bills.

Electrical tape, no. And an exacto yes if your not careful.

Yeah, you do need to be a little careful with the exacto. Score the tape more so than slice it off, then peel. Its worth the effort, really. The tape won't hurt the barrel at all, its glue isn't as intense as duct tape, and it'll come off if you want it to without any permanent marks left on the barrel.

Do I need to poke holes in the tape where the porting is?

It isn't really necessary, because the only holes that are covered up by the tape are the ones that would be covered by the front sight post system anyway.
