In four years when I graduate, me and a couple buddies may venture out to get one of these: (the crest, not the full flag)

Tacky... just get the wings on your wrist. (allowed to get wrist tattoos?)
So are you army, marines, or a butt pirate?
Accepted for airborne yet or just hoping?

Carl, do yourself a favour and never, EVER get a crest or cap badge as a tattoo....unless you want to be laughed at by everyone within a grid square.

Sorry for the Jingo. Taught map and compass today and was a little tweaked.
You'll learn this, but a grid square is a square on an issued map. You use it to define specific point and Grid points. A grid square is equal to 1 square kilometre of land.
There you go, you just got a leg up over your peers.
Your welcome.

Grid square? |
ah, the freshman have so much to learn...if anyone tells you to go get a box of grid squares, they mean grab the maps....i saw a major mess up a new LT with that one time. good stuff
either way...i would get the tattoo in a spot not visible by anyone unless i was at a pool or something...and i don't see why you shouldn't get a tattoo of something you're proud of...the US Airborne have a very proud and badass history.
edit-did you not get your tattoo with Canada written on it because you were proud of it?

After a couple trips overseas, you learn a few things about yourself.
For me, I realized that I'll never find a better country than Canada.
Patriotism is also bound to last longer than a unit or motto....mainly because at the end of the day, the military is just another job.

I've got one on my shoulder that I don't have any pics of anymore, its a celtic knot.
My second one will be a fireman's cross sometime in the future. I've only been in the fire service for 3 years, I'm going to wait at least 10 before I go and get a tattoo for it, anything less than that is sort of tacky and presumptuous if you ask me.

You are lucky that you don't live in Japan. Many places in Japan don't allow people with tattoos. In Japanese history tattooed people were usually gang members, or members of secret societies. As it turns out, tattoos are still popular among gangsters in Japan to this day, you'll see some fantastic tattoos at the Sanja Matsuri (a large festival held in Tokyo each year).
Here is a sign at the local water park,

I don't have any tattoo's. but if I did it'd probably be a piston tattoo. One with lots of detail, similar to this. except it wouldn't say made in Canada.

Or one with two pistons crossing or something along those lines.
Like this, minus the orange.
