Mechanically, they're the same. But the Platinum has a whole bunch more cosmetic and convenience features, so I'd say the Platty.

Indeed. The platinum basically eliminates much of the minor annoyances that the older 98c line had. Not that they were BAD, but they were little irritating quirks that might make you utter a swear word or two. The front sight spring, for one was a huge pain in that it used to like to pop on you- now its locked into place. That's just one example....on the whole, the platinum is the more convenient of the two, not so much better. ------------- ? |
