I have thought of a new discussion/game. This is how it goes. Assuming everyone was of legal age to drink. Describe the forumers in a bar setting. Such as type of drink, location of bar, dress, activites etc. I will start.

Rambino: In his business attire, seeing he just got off work late. Drinking scotch or an American micro brew.

Jmac: Pregamed 2 hours before. So he is not yet drunk but well past buzzed. He is drinking jager or jameson. While drinking a dark lager or pale ale.

AceOfSpades: He is all over anyting that has a vagina. He would be drinking keystone light if they served it at the tippmann bar. But has settled for bud light. Or he doesn't drink, is the DD, and drifts his drunk friends home.

Have fun with it.

Without getting specific on names, I can describe the general atmosphere.

The old hands, (and the REALLY old hands) would be in a quiet corner of the bar surrounded by empty sam adams, budweiser and guiness bottles, with a glass of wine here and there.

They'd be telling stories and reminiscing, as old hands do when they're in a group.

The guys that have spent some time around here would be hovering between trying to impress the new guys with their own stories and hedging as close to the old hands as they can, hoping for the chance to say something relevant to their conversation. They'd be drinking jack and cokes, budweisers, and other assortments of mixed drinks.

The new guys, would be doing shots of anything they could get their hands on and would be swapping lies as close to the bar as possible, and as loudly as they could. They wouldn't be paying any attention to the old guys in their corner, nor would they have any interest in the budding wisdom of the slightly older players/members.

There'd be a few guys, who might have a beer or a glass in their hands who are more interested in watching the antics of the other patrons of the bar rather than drinking or telling stories.

Detrevni would be drinking milk in a Hawaiian shirt and smoking a pipe of tobacco.

Whale and Jmac would be drinking Guinness and talking about music.  Later that night, they will lead a sing-a-long consisting of "Shipping Up to Boston" for 3 straight hours.  I will be playing piano.

We'd discover that Ruska and Choop have strikingly similar facial features, and the only way to distinguish them apart would be Ruska's fuller beard.

Evil Elvis will be kicked out for starting fights.  Shoulda left the lucha mask at home.

Mack will be spewing drunken puns all night.  Everyone will find these puns hilarious...  for the first couple hours.

God is the bouncer, and he kicks anyone out that says "Crap" more than three times in an hour.  People will then procede to put on fake mustaches and come back into the bar.

Bland is the ghost that haunts the bar after hours.  If you listen closely, you will hear "Post your picture with girls....  drama freeeeee"

Lets see

Enos and Snake would be chilling, drinking Rolling Rock and Coors respectively. Probly with me, but apparently you're not supposed to post about yourself.

OS would be standing in front of a crowd of new players, explaining the difference between a sniper and an interdiction riflemen.

Skillet would have been kicked out hours ago, no gingers allowed.

Markhoff would be ingesting grain alcohol and playing hours and hours of music.

Sporx fled the bar hours ago, once the new player forum realized she actually was a girl, along with Clark Kent.

Henry would be laying in the corner, out cold from the beating he received from Bandana.

Hway would be taking his teeth out, posing for goofy pictures.

Funky would be chilling with choop, enjoying a nice single malt scotch, with cigars.

Stealth would be drinking an Appletini, handing out glass roses, and taking pictures of the forumers.

I would be at the bar, but at the far end of the bar away from the rest of people, wearing a button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to my elbows and a tie loosened at the neck.

Seven years ago I used to sit with the new, young kids right next to the bartender. The about four years ago I started sitting with the regulars in the booth in the back of the room, plotting funny things to do for the evening.

Now, I pretty much have my lonesome spot off to the side. People don't mess much, and I don't interject.

If alone, like I usually am, I drink a cheap but not all-together bad beer, like Shock-Top.

The only time I leave my quiet hole is if someone I like having a conversation with shows up. Someone like Rambino, who just got off work, or Tallen, who came up from the kitchen, or Brihard, dressed in his military fancy suit. Then I get crazy and order a Captain Morgan and grapefruit juice while I shoot the crap.

A Hav-A-Tampa Jewel is lit and hanging out my teeth as I scribble notes down on a legal pad.

Every now and again I hear two people talking at the bar who keep saying things that are factually incorrect. I cannot help but lean back from my stool and tell them "Yeah that's not right."

I am normally silent unless someone in a booth or at the bar starts talking about politics. I will interject their debate with something centrist, making points without trying to stir up too much.

Mostly I just sit there, sipping my Shock Top.

I want to make another trip quite badly. The problems are 1) I currently
have no place to stay while there, and I don't really have the money for a
hotel. Last time I was staying with my at-that-time-now-ex girlfriend's
sister, who lives on The Hill. 2) It would probably have to be spring break
again, as my schedule is wicked slammed pretty much constantly.

On a related beer note, I love Shock Top. It is by far the best cheap beer I
have had. I honestly didn't know it was an AB product while I was drinking
it the first time, and I was surprised to find it out afterwards. It's crisp
without being watery, and the orange zest makes my inner Floridian
happy.

The fiancee and I have an extra room at our new apartment, so if you ever need a place to crash Whale, we've got you covered. The only problem is that we're about 3 miles from the Huntington Metro station, so transportation is dicey unless you were to have your own.

I suppose transportation would be an issue. Last time I flew into Baltimore,
because that is the closest that Southwest will get to DC, and Southwest
happens to be the airline I can afford.

i'd be sitting there at the bar next to monk while sippin on a tom collins and he'll be drinkin a screwdriver. We'll sit there and chat and raise our head to look at the tv everytime there is a hot lady that pops up and then we'll dicuss what we would do to her, then go back to talking about silly things.

Someone that we know would come up to bar and order something and we would yell, "HEEEEEYYYYYY!!!!!" and that people would look at us and just kinda walk away with their danty tequila sunrise.

^^MINOR!!! Unless this bar is in Canada.

I'd probably be sipping on a Black and Tan depending on the beers used to make it. If they were both beers that I didn't enjoy (one is usually guiness so I should be okay there) then I'd take a pint of Mac N' Jacks. The ideal situation would contian a San Jose Sharks game on the TV, and a non-typical atmosphere at the bar. i.e. people aren't shouting at eachother to hold a casual conversation and there is just a nice murmur of conversation flowing instead.

Maybe if this bar had been open for years, this is what we would be doing.

We would all be looking around for familiar faces and meeting people we've talked to for years, yet never seen.

We'd be stuffing Tallen in the kitchen to make us something yummy.
Half the room would be within 2 feet of sporx.
OMHW would be sitting in their own booth, with apple butter and wine.
Most of us would be comparing gun collections.
I would either wear my TPA Crew shirt, or the infamous green jersey.
Skillet would be lobbying for votes.
Several member would have adjourned to the smoking room.
Many new players would be begging the mods for stars, or access to the mod forum.

Since no one will do me....

I'd be the post-tipsy but still-able-to-remember-everything-in-the-morning drunk in any social circle that stops short of flat-out telling me they don't want my company (which no one would, because lets face it, I'm an awesome person) making jokes at the expense of people I don't like that hit too close to home but you just can't help but laugh at, and probably being the best wingman Stealth has ever been partnered with.

If sporx would happen to be the only female, chances are I would be around her most of the time, because I require attention from the opposite sex during times of inebriation.

Once I had my fun getting to know everyone, I would sit back with Whale, Tallen, Rambs, Johny Hopper, Reb, Hway, Hades and/or Prodigy, and just relax the night away, enjoying my first cigar smoke should I get the chance, and enjoy the conversation being held.

Chances are I would ridicule, demean, degrade, defame, and slander HTY to his face as much as possible because he cheated on Kelsey and had no shame.

When I get drunk I just make an ass out of myself.  So I'll probably get 8 or 9 beers in me, stumble around, and then call some girl I don't even know a lesbian...

I'd be with Snipa and The Guy watching the game as well.  Hopefully it would be against Detroit, it'd be a good game.  I'd probably be drinking a bud light.

Id start off not drinking and just chillin out with everyone, talking only when spoken too are could relate to something.

Id get to where i felt like drinking and start off with some black brews or whatever lager is available; steel reserve if the wallet's thin. then if i wanted to, i'd likely move on to tequila or whiskey shots, mmm Old Forrester.

i wouldnt change behavior much except i might get a little louder and slightly horny in which case i'd start to hang around sporx and make an ass of myself, but continue to just hang out with everyone and just chill.

Impossible.  No body flocks around Sporx on this forum.

Since the focus has shifted to explaining what WE'D be doing, I'll take a crack at it.

I'd be nowhere near the bar, with either a white russian or a guiness in my hand. (depending on the night) I know enough people well enough that you could find me with a small group talking about everything from cars to paintball to hunting. After a while, I'd have to wander off and look for people I know I could recognize, just to shoot the breeze for a bit. Choop, Enos, Snake, Whale, tallen to name just a few.

I'll talk to anyone really, as long as their conversation isn't too liberally sprinkled with 'dude' or 'bro' and I'm not required to high five them upon introduction.

By the end of the evening, I'd be one of the few relatively sober ones left, so while the majority of the gang is passing out, going home, or trying to get sporx to go home with them, you'll find me with the group in the back having 'one last drink' and having what we believe to be a serious conversation about damn near anything. That group would probably include some of the older guys, a few military men (they've got the best stories at that time of night) and a few others who, like me, weren't interested in drinking themselves into oblivion because the Canadians were picking up the tab.

ALTERNATIVELY: depending on the say I had at work, I'd spend a few hours talking and meeting people, then sitting down to drink enough guiness until I fall asleep and have to get kicked out in the morning.

Well,
I'd start off the night with a few shots of JD with a cheap beer back, either Coors light or Miller High Life.
Once I get the feeling I was looking for, I'd switch up to a nice German beer. (Hopefully somethings on tap.)
I would then pester Rambs about what its like being a lawyer.
Following that, I would try to talk to the older crowd, but would eventually get kicked out of that group for something stupid I said.
Then I would try my game on Sporx.
After getting shut down, I'd ingest more JD and try again.
Then, I would sit down with Gatyr and talk about rap, with me and with debating anyone would says rap sucks.

True dat.

Just came back from a night full of Patron.

Suddenly realized that I finally made the obligatory drunk post, and forgot to point it out.

Woot - one more box checked.

Alas, the world has changed.  When I started out, taking clients and recruits to strip clubs was standard procedure, and I have submitted many a reimbursement for "tips - $300", but no more.  Taking recruits to strip clubs could get you fired, and taking clients to strip clubs is frowned upon (unless it is a big client, of course, in which case it's all good).

So, the real question is this:

When I open my own restaurant, I'm going to also have a nice bar. I'll probably take two buildings side-by-side and make the dining room in one and the bar in the other. When that happens and I send out the invites for opening night. How many of you would make the trip? Chances are it will either be in Charlottesville, VA or Asheville, NC.

If it were Charlottesville, I would make the trip. That's not too far a trip for me.

I'm looking for a chance to get down to Fla. to see a friend and some family down there one of these years...this could be a good stopover.

This could also be a huge opportunity for a forum meet and greet.

Well, it won't be for a few more years, but the plan is to move from the DC metro area to a more affable town and open a nice bistro and a bar. So, I'll keep everyone abreast as the time gets closer.

I may be out then...eating with you and Rambs isn't that bad...but the addition of mbro...I might have to leave the wife at the hotel.

Aren't there any places closer to sea level?
