Will fields even let you play with that thing on...?  Getting shot in the face would be murder.

I hope they let me use it...

Also, yeah, I can imagine paint splintering will be pretty painful, but it shouldn't be TOO bad. In Houston, where it's ho and humid 94.6% of the time, this thing is nice. It breathes so well...

I've seen refs make people use a rental mask if they have a modded one; one case was a team that were called predator that drilled dreads or whatever predator had on his head into their masks.  Another one was someone had cut the nose out and stuck one of those plastic gag-noses in place of it, looked funny but probably not too safe.

This isn't really a modded mask. Well, it is, and it isn't. It's actually an old-school mask that was produced in the 90's. It used older model JT lenses, which were actually zip-tied on. It obviously needed new lenses, and I figured Spectras would be around for a while, so I cut it for Spectra. I actually made it safer! Plus, my field has an appreciation for old-school, so I'll see what they have to say about it.

Put some mesh behind it (like on screen doors) and you should be fine.

^^^ That's a pretty good idea, actually. I wonder how that would affect airflow...

Most fields insurance won't let you use a mask that's been modded from the mask creators original safety regulations.  Just a heads up.

Not at all. I just fail to see the purpose of that.

Purpose? Do you know how well this thing breathes? I'm honestly liking it better than my Profilers right now. Not to mention, since when have I cared about looks?

Enjoy getting shot in the mouth wearing that :X

Predicted excerpt from DeTrevni's diary after first day of play with new mask.

"Note to self-do not breath with mouth open when under fire."

Hah. I don't like pain, so I'm probably gonna line it with screening, as per WGP's suggestion. Shouldn't affect the air-flow too much, and it would prevent shrapnel damage...

I kind of agree with ghost. If the only reason you made it was so that you had a mask that breathed better, why not just buy a $50 or cheaper proflex? They breath really well and are most definitely lighter..

But whatever, always leave it up to DeTrevni to find something to fix up

No one wears them because A) It's an unheard of idea and B) It's goofy looking anyway

That mask won't help you play better, it will make the other team play worse.

Reason being, they will be laughing at the fact of someone wearing a chain-linked fence on thier face.

EDIT: AND you are telling me you spend what? $2,000 on a Pistol, and you can't seem to afford a decent breathing mask?
