Welcome to the boards.

You'll like the 98 platinum, its a great little marker.

As far as paint goes: most of the paint on the market is advertised as .68 caliber. Different paint brands vary a little bit, but for the most part you can go to any retailer or buy paint offline and you'll be able to shoot it.

As you progress in with the game, you may choose to upgrade your barrel, then try to find the best paint to barrel match. Again, you can pretty much shoot any paint with any barrel, but some people choose to get really particular about finding small or large bore paint.

If you're new, as long as it says '.68 cal' you're okay.

The best place to buy paint is a pro shop, though you'll pay a little more there. A sports retailer like Dicks or Gander mountain is also a pretty good place, but ask to open the boxes first before you buy to make sure there are no breaks in the bag. If there are, find another box.

Ordering offline used to be pretty popular, but its tough because you don't know what kind of handling they'll get during shipping You might have breaks upon delivery which will hinder performance.

In terms of storage, a cool, DRY place is best for them. High heat and moisture will have a really bad effect on your paint.

As Reb said welcome to the forums and grats on your new purchase.  I started with a 98C so I know you will be happy with it.  Basically everything he said was dead on though.  The only thing I would add is if you have any specific questions please dont hesitate to post them.  We will happily answer any question you have.

You can buy decent paint and retail stores like walmart but you MUST open the boxes and look to see if the paint is perfectly round and not brokenand when i have some whats the best way to store them?Cool dry place. I reccomend taking the bag and moving the paint around at least once a week so the paint doesnt sit and become dented.

well anyway hello all

Advertising on this forum is strictly prohibited.  So the moderator guested the member, deleted his post and replaced it with something less prohibited and significantly more amusing.

Although, it would have been funnier if he had started it with something along the lines of "I'm a loser who can't follow rules or get any real business . . ."
