Hello everyone i recently bought a a5 with a response trigger, i love the gun but accuracy at 30 yards leave much to be desired, i havnt moded anything on this gun as of yet but i was hoping yall could point me in the right direction to get more accuracy and some kewl mods.

i was thinking of using a expansion chamber that looks like a magazine and get a nice shorud to mock a RL gun, also should i ditch the RT and get a Egrip ? could you give me the pros and cons of each still kinda green when it comes to paintballing. also what would be best< compressed air, Co2 or nitrous ? and whats the best ammo for these weps  Thanks for your response

well luckily they do have this expansion chamber and it is a nice one.  however from a below question if you go hpa you might as well get the lapco or another mag that isnt an expansion chamber since hpa doesnt need it.

also should i ditch the RT and get a Egrip ?

It all depends what you want.  the nce thing about the rt is that it takes no batteries and if you dial it in right you can get your rof quite high.  the bad part is some fields outlaw it.  i havent had it happen to anyone i know yet but it does happen.  the  egrip is nice but since its electronic it needs batteries and is more expensive.  i prefer the egrip just because of the fact that it is so easy to use diff fire modes and i dont have to sweet spot it.

well Co2 is nice if you live in an area that is always warm and you dont have a place to fill hpa.  co2 is more volatile in terms of how mch power it gives out and how different those outputs can be based on outside factors.  nitrous is usually the term for something like nitrous oxide which is used in cars not paintball .  I think you meant nitrogen in which case nitro tanks are the same as hpa tanks for the most part.  usually it is hpa that you will find.  this is more expensive for the tank but usually less expensive in fills.  it is also more regulated.  all regs have a break in period but once it is broken in you are set to go.  HPA is also not effected by temp outside and such.

As you can see it comes down to what you are looking for. if you have more specifics please feel free to ask and we will be happy to help.  Welcome to the sport as well.

Sweet ty judge for the reply, where i live we dont have a big following of this sport so its hard to get the right info.

I have been using Co2, but after a decent burst of paint i would notice there would be a prty hazy cloud of Co2 coming from the barrel and it seemed from the trigger area, so i think that a expansion chamber would help me with that.

when it comes to barrel upgrade, i have narrowed it down to 2 barrels of course the Flatline is always on my mind and the other is a Apex with the adjuster on the end, anyone know what barrel is more accurate, we play in the woods so accuracy pwns volume, also we only use 30 round hoppers to gain more realism so im looking for accuracy

has anyone used the shrouds from Ops gear ? i was thinking of using this shroud http://www.opsgear.com/416-Shroud-for-Tippmann-A5-p/og-shroud-416-a5.htm - http://www.opsgear.com/416-Shroud-for-Tippmann-A5-p/og-shrou d-416-a5.htm  but it doesnt look like it will fit a Flatline barrel anyone have anyidea if it will ?

one of the reasons i was gonna ditch the RT for the Egrip was i was thinking it was using alot of air but from reading some post on the forum, some people say this is not true any input i dont mind a 9v battery for the Egrip

I play woodsball, and I would recommend the apex over the flatline, ever day of the week.

The flatline is a permanent full ramp barrel. So when you are laying on the ground, the ability to shoot someone right in front of you is impacted, as the ball spins out of the barrel, and starts really low, and then raises as it flies. You will end up hitting the ground a lot, until you get used to it.

Plus it is hard on paint, the little bumps in the barrel that help it "spin" will break tournament grade paint often... And broken paint in a flatline is a HUGE problem on the field. They are not easy to clean.

I run an apex on my A-5. I have my "quick" disconnect set perfect, so that I can just make a half twist on the barrel to remove it if I have a broken ball. But, I can still turn the tip to shoot around trees, and logs. I run mine at half ramp, which gives the same type of shot as a typical gun, straight out of the barrel and accurate (with good paint) up to about 75-90feet. Which is what most targets in woodsball will be within. I have a red dot scope that is super accurate with this set up.

Plus, when I see someone far away, I can ramp it full (push the dial forward) and I can shoot at least 200 feet with kill accuracy.

I got the first apex in our group, now most guys want them. Here is my team from this past Saturday.

Paint is the MOST important thing you will buy. Take your barrel with you to the store, when you are going to buy paint. The paintball should roll into the barrel and stop, then you blow in it lightly and it should roll the rest of the way out. If it does this, it is the right size. Each lot is different, you have to try it to find the best for your barrel.

If you are having accuracy problems, it is most likely the paint. Any dimples or seams will cause the ball to be inaccurate.

I had a paint that was perfect, but they discontinued it, so I am searching for a new one. I have a light pole in my front yard 75 feet from my driveway. There is a tag on it with numbers, and with my scope I can hit the numbers 4 out of 5 times. And hit the pole 5 out of 5 times...

Put in different paint, and they are all over the place, with the exact same set up...

I used my apex to hit the guy on the left from about 100 feet. Right where I had the red dot on his mask!

The guy on the right was also hit by a player on the other team with a apex barrel from about 60 feet.

the rt doest use any more air because it is using the excess air to drive it.  as for the apex vs flatline, neither are super accurate.  the apex is prefered by most simply because you can turn off the effect which can then give you accuracy and its not as picky on paint.  when it somes to those distaces though alot of factors come into play because of the trajectory and the spin on the ball mixed with the wind and the surroundings.  it gets complex to say the least lol.  for this reason if you really want accuracy and distance but you dont mind only having one at a time i would recommend the J&J with apex adaptor or the Lapco Bigshot that is apex ready.  even if you dont get the apex right away i would still recommend the J&J or lapco for accuracy.  i personally prefer J&J but that is because they are quieter and can shoot through a break a little easier.  it all comes to preference on that one.  Also if you are def sticking with co2 for now i would recommend the palmers stabilizer over an expansion chamber.  with a little work you could probably even fit a mg over it.  te stabilizer gives much better performance over the expansion chamber though and can be used with HPA if you ever decide to upgrade to it.

*edit* that shroud will not fit the flatline but i do like that shroud.

so now that i know what mods i am gonna do in the near furture, are the any other mods that like the feeding system or and internals that will effect the a5 in a positive manner

Also anyone know of a indoor paintball arena around Buffalo NY ?

the only mod i have done to the internals on the cyclone is the JCS JetClick ratchet upgrade.  it wasnt necessay sinc my old one never broke, i just changed it out to be on the safe side.  anothe mod for the internals is polishing the internals of the receiver halves.  this is an easy and basically free mod and there are lots of instructions on here of how to do it.  it also isnt necessary but can help a little.
