Hey guys, I just tried my new Alpha Black for the first time and I was left a bit disappointed for various reasons but mainly because of balls going to the sides after shooting, note that I did not change it's factory settings, so maybe adjusting the velocity will help make it go straight?
Well my question is, which marker will shoot more accurately out of the box??
What would you get?
I paid $150 for my Alpha Black with E-grip but to add a Q-loader or Cyclone it's $60 more, and to add a sight you have to place it on top of the carry handle, which leaves the sight really high.
$150+$60= $120
The A-5 can be purchased for around $120 with cyclone already installed and has a flat top for sights.
Should I return my Alpha and get the A-5 or are they really similar performance wise? (range and accuracy, I don't care about BPS)
EDIT- Would ti be a good idea to invest in a Apex or flat line barrel for accuracy?

Well Tippmann's are known to come set WAY too hot usually from factory so yes thatcould be a big problem. Also if you still have the factory barrel on ther they arent that great. Chrono and try again then get a new barrel and try again.

They should be about the same. The A5 stock barrel is not impressive at all in my opinion.

I have an A5 but I am very into milsim. Had the AB been out when I bought it I would have gotten it and installed a cyclone or a Q loader (prolly a cyclone though)

$150+$60= $120 I think you meant 210 and a sight isnt needed just aim down the iron sights it came with unless you didnt get the tac package.

Honestly its up to you. If you like the A5 setup better then go for it. Personally speaking I would simply buy a new barrel and have some fun with the AB. If you want to go milsim look further I recommend the Lapco or the Hammerhead barrels that were just put out with Tippmann and Hammerhead.
EDIT- Would ti be a good idea to invest in a Apex or flat line barrel for accuracy? They both give distance. At further distances the paintballs become much less accurate.

Alpha Black, no question. I had no luck with A-5s.

Gotta go the other way. if those are the choices....A-5. and your barrel question is really just that..doesnt sound like bore size for paint was correct. balls zoom left right up and down cuz they aquire friction while exiting the barrel from A:imperfections in barrel B:from to much room in there!lol. stock barrels for both are polished tubing..look down the barrel and you will see the imperfections. true out-a-the box tippmanns are set high. well above 300. set it down a bit. about the apex vs flatline? you have to decide. the flatline pretty much is what it is..build everything around it cuz it going no where. the apex is smaller and adapts to the rest of the weapon. check out lapco's apex ready stuff. first mod for mil-sim gun always the barrel. get accurate first. use less paint, less air,and play longer without getting out. money you save on paint spent on mods. dont worry bout sights for paintball..!!! just for looks
------------- Dont build it cheap. build it right!
