Well I am in the market for a new market and I ran across this beauty. I have wanted a procarbine since the first time I played so I finally bought one for under 50 bucks. I always had a hard time finding them for under 75 so I am quite happy with this find.

This isnt my pic since I havent received it yet but it should look earily similar to this one .
Also it is black the flash gave it the redish look according to the seller.
New*
So when I got the gun it didnt work... no linkage arm. So I stripped it down, cleaned it, polished the parts up, got a new linkage arm, the metal sight to hold the linkge arm in and I just got in th 8" Lapco. Dremeled the grip up so it would fit (did a pretty even job and you can't tell of any flaws unless you look right down the barrel and not too many people will get that close anyways). But it looks quite nice so i figured I would throw it up here.

Nice pickup. I was always a fan of the sliding grip/elbow. (I regret parting with mine also.)

just nopt sure what i want to do with it. I may try to build a drop in kit for it to look more realistic (by drop in i mean somethin it goes into such as a wood frame). Who knows maybe it will be the one I dont touch at all and just let be as it is and as it was meant to be.

I wouldn't go dumping money into it, I don't know what else you have for guns, but I'm assuming this is primarily a pull out for fun type of deal?

For the most part yes but I like to use all of my guns equally. The only other thing I may end up getting is a few replacement parts as needed and the barrel. The inside was a lil messy but it was just some oxidation. I grabbed some oil and the finest steel wool i could and scrubbed it all away and it is very smooth now. I also had an extra drive spring from my A5 and the one it came with looked a lil... well... rusty i guess for the most part. I also ordered a full o ring set since it was only 1 dollar. you can never have too many o rings.

I would put a fiber-optic sight and a good gravity-fed hopper* on it
and have an ultra-basic semi-auto for those less competitive "fun"
games. Plus it makes for a system that will always work as a back-up
since the marker itself is bullet-proof and the accessories are simple.
*The Indian Springs one with the feed channel is good; there is also
another one with dual feed channels (the name escapes me) that is
highly recommended as well.

It the arc feeder and I already use those. I love them. I actually use it on my cocker trilogy sense its not the sf and it rarely stops feeding on me. They are a good investment toget as a backup hopper or even as a main hopper.

Yeah . . . I like that barrel on there. Can you still move the foregrip forward for cleaning?

its tight but yes... i didnt want to take anymore off with the dremel though. I figure it will just rub out further if it needs to. but it seems to work just fine with no hiccups. I love the look on it though.

Here is probably the last update for this one... I just need to take a little oil and wool to the trigger to get any last bit of rust off. I took off the sling, repainted the foregrip with some fusion. replaced and painted screws galore, new ASA, longer hose, and some shrink wrap on the hose. I must say she cleans up nicely.

I loved the look and simplicity of Pro-Carb's, You cleaned it up beautifully!
Maybe look into possibly modifying it to accept an RT for some fun/firepower?

The only other thing to do now is clean up the grip a bit and clean up that trigger. i may even make the safety black but not sure yet. I was thinking about the firepower but i like it as is. I am getting out of the higher bps and relying mainly on my trigger finger lately. Really when i bought this i bought it to be a tank of a gun and for low maintenance. so far what i have put into it outweighs what i paid for it lol. As far as any future plans i may re anno it one day to put something new on the side but that would be way down the road. Honestly i cant wait to play with it. edit* I did lso buy an air thru stock for both this and my trilogy. it hooks up to the asa (hence why i bought a new one that aims straighter back) looks god and feels decent on this one but perfect on the trilogy.

maybe... its a little sloppy. took a little too much off on one part.
edit* i also just picked up a spring kit. the stock spring is looking a little worn so it cant hurt but the kit includes trigger pull springs to make it lighter on me.

I recommend not messing with the trigger springs of the earlier Tippmann markers*. For some reason they seem more sensitive to this type of modding than the 98's and newer markers. In fact, if I remember correctly, the 68 Carbine I had came with specific instructions in the manual to not alter the trigger spring. (Instructions that I ignored and ended up having to get a new sear to go with the original trigger spring when I put it back in.)
*In other words; replace as opposed to upgrade.

its the maddman spring kit. if it feels off at all i will just put the stock ones back in it. i just want a lighter pull for it.

put the maddman spring in. it would be too light for the sear b/c it wouldnt bring it back ito position fast enough but the one for the trigger is about 1lb compared to the 9lb pull. it is ridiculously light (those are estimates on my own feel of it)
