GAH! I took my Buick into the shop a few days back. Transmission problems, and unfortunately, I don't have the know-how to fix that. So the mechanic said we've got a cracked transmission casing. Yipee. That sounds nice. What's the cost of repairs? $2,000. ... So yeah, that means I'm broker than before, can't enter the Buick in the car show we were going to do, it's no longer safe to drive, and I think I'm just going to get an entirely new transmission. What trans is in it now? Its old, its a GM, and its RWD, so the trans is most likely the same model used in many cars. |

I see wut you did there. I laugh at you for not knowing about my Man Van. As for what transmission I've got, it's an ST-300. I'm just gonna get a TH-350 for it. I'll be getting rid of the van soon enough. Will be replaced by an all white 2K4 Impala.

The report I got was simply "the casing is cracked." All I know is I'm getting my car back tomorrow...

More like drop in a 350. She's only got a 300 in there, but the motor's solid as a rock. She won't drag race, but she rides smoooooth. The only problem with Buick is they are proprietary when it comes to motors. Sure there's a Buick 350, but Chevy 350 parts (the popular ones) won't fit properly. I'm thinking I may just restore the 300 motor. It's only got 32,000 miles on it.
