I'm kinda new to the sport but have a A-5 with R/T and have been using c02 I would like to go to compressed air but have no idea whats the best volume and psi to get.

Also what is better the E-trigger or R/T or is it just a personal thing?

Volume/PSI needs depend upon your shooting tendencies and access to air fills.  If you limit your shots per game and can refill your tank between games then you need a much smaller tank than if you like to paint everything in sight and have to make your tank last the entire day.

As a very rough means of estimating your needs you can figure about 10 shots per cubic inch at 3000 psi.  Using this method, a 68 cubic inch 3000 psi tank would get you around 680 (68 X 10) shots.  You can estimate about 15 shots per cubic inch with 4500 psi tanks.

E-grip is an electronic grip that has different settings such as Semi Auto, 3 Shot Burst, Full Auto etc. Response Triggers utilize excess gas to push a pin inside a cylinder behind the trigger. When tuned properly, the pin forces the trigger back in place and you can get a full auto effect. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.  I have heard some fields do not allow RTs because they can not be turned off, but personally, I have not run across any field yet that hasnt allowed it.

Do you ever plan on playing in tournaments? If so, dont get an RT. Most of the time its illegal.

As the resident CO2 proponent, I would still stay with CO2 until you notice any detriment to the way you play. CO2 works just fine for 90% of rec players, unless you can get a great deal on a HPA tank and have fills at your field, theres no reason to spend more money.

^^^Very true.  I will add that most of my Tippmanns seem to prefer CO2 to compressed air.

Keep in mind, RTs love Co2 as they become very reactive, but CO2+RT+cold=fail

However, summer is fine.
