Bored or not, why would you ever upload a video of you showing off the sound your ATV's exhaust makes?

Who would ever want to watch that? What the hell are you thinking when you make these movies? Listening to the noise a machine makes is not entertaining to anyone unless it.s a sound ray gun that blasts the close off of women. This is not one of those3 guns. Therefore, do not make these absolutely retarded, red neck videos.

Umm, someone with the same quad ? Someone thinking about buying that exhaust system but wanting to hear it first ? Or maybe someone who just likes quads and is surfing youtube for videos.

Based of the silly grammar and spelling mistakes that mbro is not known for, I'd say he's not all that bored right now. ;)

Who in their right mind is that concerned with the sound that an ATV makes? It's supposed to be loud. STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY ON YOUR E-PEEN.

And drifting FWD cars is certainly not difficult in the snow.  Even on asphalt you just need a little flicking skill.

But in the snow you gotta go backwards donut.

indeed, rwd and awd cars may have some advatages to drifting, but it certianly CAN be done in fwd cars.

You really can't, your front tires break loose, but your rear end won't slide out.

Closest I got to drifting a fwd was going forward, pulling the e-brake and at the same time mashing the gas to to the floor and turning a hard left and it would whip itself around.  That and swerving erratically on dirt roads, that was drifting actually, It's also scary in fwd cars. Rear end came around rather nice.

thats not only an overgeneralization, its not entirely true at that.

for instance, many AWD cars divert much more power to rear wheels

aside from that, just because you cant do it, certianly does not mean it cannot be done.

I think it was the tires, they looked flat, I drove it, went into a REAL sharp curve at about 65-70 mph and just slid straight, looked at sidewalls. Looked low, aired, still bad so just to see I aired them ( they were low pros as well) to about 50 psi and they still looked low, they were just crap tires and the car shook with them on ect. He just got new tires on the car and I've yet to drive it since. He tells me it handles like a rail now.

Ford, you are having a hard time with fwd cars because you are "drifting" by using drive-wheel torque.  Stomping on the gas isn't drifting, that's just smoking tires.

When turning at the limit, which wheels will come loose first is determined mostly by front/rear bias, not front vs. rear drive wheels. This can be tweaked by throttle control and wheel flick, but car design is at the center of it.

Similarly, if you are having a hard time drifting awd vehicles it is because you are using the pedal-mash method - that gives you the out of control 4-wheel slide you describe.  With careful vehicle control, awd cars will drift just fine.

I usually agree with what you have to say, but I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.  Although it is possible to POWERSLIDE a fwd vehicle, it is impossible to maintain a drift by definition.  A drift starts before and ends after the apex of a turn (I used to have a really nice illustration showing the difference, but I can't find it now).  This more or less requires your drive wheels to be in the rear, seeing as how it is extremely difficult to swing the rear end out before a turn in a front wheel drive vehicle. I'm not going to put any effort into this debate tonight.  Maybe tomorrow.

i'm going to have to disagree with you here, just put some old balding economy tires on the back and see how hard it is

I must admit I have not put a lot of thought into specific definitions of "drift," but I am always up for some semantic geekery.

I always distinguished drifting from powersliding by getting the non-drive wheels to slide.  Fishtailing a rwd vehicle is a powerslide, not a drift, unless your front wheels are also sliding.  Kicking out the rear in a fwd vehicle is drifting, regardless of what the front is doing.  awd vehicles kind of mess with the this definition, but whatever.  I guess you need a 4-wheel slide to "drift" a awd car.

In any event - "drifting" in its modern use was pretty much popularized by a bunch of guys in fwd cars, so it seems odd to say that you can't drift fwd cars.  And starting a rear wheel slide before the apex  in a fwd car isn't that difficult either.  Scandinavian flick will do that immediately, and in the right car even a lift might do it if you are at the limit.

But, like I said - strictly semantic geekery.
