First and foremost I want to thank Rap4paintball of the A5 Owners Group for providing the design idea. With out his efforts I would not have attempted this.

I just love the way this works and how smooth it is.

so wait, i can't really tell whats going on. The pictures are kinda small.

is the rear cocking thing right behind the sight rail? and i always thought the A5 was smooth to begin with, but I haven't tried this so I really don't know.

Let me clarify,

I have made a modification to make the A5 cock like the M4/M15/AR15 rifle.

The cocking lever is in the back behind the rail.

ah, looks like it passes through the rail and is pinned
vertically to the old cocking rod at the front.

Looks good, but does it open up the top of the body
to dirt/paint?

You know I almost did that exact same design but never got around to it.  Looks good and well done.

here you go,

It opens up the same part of the body that is already open with the standard cocking rod.

Actually, the old cocking groove could be tooled to look like an ejection port. I know its on the wrong side, but it looks better than having the open groove there.

Or at the very least, patching it up would enhance the look a lot too.

As always nice job Mr. Engler. LOL I've been spoiled with having a marker with one of those cocking levers for some time now and forget just how nice they are until I pick up my son's MR1. LOL people who want their A5s to look like an M4 NEED this modification.  Just doesn't look right without it.
