Just wondering. Are there any other fans of him besides
Dye Playa? I've really gotten into him since the release
of the Carter III and it blows my mind how good most of
his lyrics are. I'm a big fan of Kanye and Lupe who are
just amazing with their concepts and samples, but Lil'
Wayne is just a killer with words. And even if you don't
enjoy his style, you still have to give him credit to
his creativity.

He has some creative lyrics, I'll admit that. BUT, his flow is terrible, his voice sucks and he's just like every other mainstream rapper with his content. And he complains, a lot.

I'm not a big fan of rap in general. The other day I heard a song on the radio, I don't even know for sure if it was him but it sounded like lil wayne. The lyrics were about getting arrested and being bad with a lady cop. I didn't care for it.

I hate that song. Its Mrs. Officer most likely. There
are a few songs I can't stand and that is one.
I personally like his voice, but I do know people who
hate it. I really only hate it when he uses the vocoder
because it makes him almost impossible to understand.

I've become a huge one in these past few months.

I listen to just about all styles of music, and I do enjoy listening to Wayne. I like some of his less known albums, the Drought series, and the songs he's featured on. He sells a gimmick, and sells it well. Entertaining, clever lyrics, etc. I like it. The new Kanye album, however, was awful. About three good songs, maybe four. Glad I didn't pay for it.

I like Wheezy.
I think he is a pretty talented hip-hop artist. Her certainly has his share of radio hits. I have the "Wee-ohh" part of Misses Officer as my current ringtone.
It is not serious or really over-the-top amazing, just catchy.
Then again, I am a sucker for radio hip-hop.
Also, Predatorr, you are right. Kanye's new album is a not good.
It is him trying emo-rap. He doesn't even rap. Which sucks.
He is a talented producer, sampler and rapper. He does none of those on this album.
Love Lockdown is a catchy song, but the whole stupid album sounds like that song.
For anyone who is not OMGMETALFACE enough to like hip-hop, Ludacris' new album is awesome. It is as raunchy and funny as ever.

I'm a big fan of rap, but if you are serious that you didn't start liking Wayne UNTIL Carter III, then we are on opposite ends of the spectrum
At this point, if Tupac came back from the dead, I don't know who he'd shoot first; Soulja boy or Lil' Wayne.

Ludacris?
People keep saying he is good, but I must be missing something, because I just don't get it. Maybe I'll give it another try.
And on Lil' Wayne - no. Too much "ooh, look at me, I am underground-rapper-guy" and not enough good production values for me.
Of course, I will readily admit my bias toward the somewhat overproduced Dre-and-derivatives style of modern rap.

I like TI now. At first I hated his music. Now the new stuff is better. I'm not saying i like all of his new songs on his new CD, but I like the singles that have come out.
Lil Wayne was alright. It got old quick just like soulja boy.

I dislike Lil' Wayne very much. I get that his songs are catchy - if
Lady Cop is on at work, I'll attempt to sing the "We ooh we" part, or
stuff like that, but as for casual listening no thanks.
I really don't even enjoy rap that much in general. I'll jam to some
on the weekends, but that is only because I have to. If it were my
call, we'd be listening to nothing but rock.

I like wayne but I have gotten to the point where I can't listen to his commercial stuff. The only songs I like by him now are the 'underground'. He does an awesome job when put on a track with Drake.

Ransom is easily one of my favorites a Lil' Wayne and
Drake collaboration.
And I've listened to more than the Carter III, that's
just where my interest grew. I've been listening to
every mixtape since: The Leak 5, The Drought Is Over 5
(Grand Closing), Gameface w Juelz, Dedication 3. His
early stuff still hasn't caught my interest but to be
honest I haven't listened to much that I haven't been
pointed to by friends.
And on other rappers. I haven't listened to all of
Theater of The Mind, but I heard the pre-release mix
tapes (Blockbuster and Feature Presentation) and they
were hot. Undisputed is my favorite track so far. I like
T.I but very few so far. His flow is great but a lot of
his songs sound somewhat similar. And I didn't get to
hear Kanye's new album yet, I was referring to his
previous albums.
And if anyone's a fan of rap, I highly suggest listening
to B.o.B and The Cool Kids. Great stuff.

I just listened to Lollipop and DJ(or something) and that stuff is abslutely horrible.
I don't care if its an opinion, he sucks.

Meh, it is an opinion, but if you're basing your opinion off of lollipop I suggest you get some advice from someone who knows Wayne's work. Lollipop isn't anywhere near his best. And Jersey, dedication 3 sucked.

i mostly agree with you.
i like -some- rap, but not the kind that has those annoying digitized voice effects, excissively obnoxiously repetative cheezy beats, consistently rymes a word with itself, pointless and excessive destruction of the english language, excessively repetetive lyrics, excessively stupid lyrics, etc.
with one exception: "read a book" :)

I love lil wayne's stuff. Lollipop is over played and completly beaten to death, and he has a few songs that suck, but for the most part I really like it. You can't just listen to the new stuff, his old stuff is awesome. The begginning Carters, The Droughts, New Orleans Nightmare, Suffix, and all his freestyles where all great. His new stuff is still good, but a lot of the older songs blow it away.
Speaking of Wayne, I'm using him in my 30 page poetry paper for AP Lit on poetry: Topic, Drugs. And my teacher loves it so far lol.

I know. I was hugely disappointed because I really only like 4 or 5 songs out of the mixtape and it had 23 tracks; the others I just kinda tolerate for a little when it comes on the Ipod when I'm driving. I'm hoping the Carter III/IV, whatever he's naming it, is better but I have to say I'm a bit skeptical since he named the Dedication 3 as the one to look out for.
And though Lollipop the original track sucked, the remix with Kanye was pretty beast.

I heard a remix of the Kanye remix that was pretty insane. A DJ slowed it down and dropped a different beat behind it. It was sick.

Amilli is the only song I like, and I'm not even sure why I like it. Someone did a remix with "Obama" vice "Amilli", pretty funny stuff.
