Absolutely horrid crap.
I hit the button accidentally, and figured I'd give it a try. I could be dying of thirst and more willingly suck the puss from a bedsore than gag down this disgusting ass water.

Good to know, this is the only one I've had, and it wasn't on purpose.
I dumped the stuff out after two sips and used the bottle for the sulfur infused fountain water that we have to offer here at work.

Why is it fat people always drink the zero cal drinks?
I'm more than willing to jump to conclusions on that one. Although I just drink water or tea most of the time which are zero cal with no sweeteners with the occasional cup of black coffee thrown in.

Why? It's their money. Do they need bottled water instead of tap water. No. But if you use the "need" criteria, we don't really need paintball, television or a lot of other things.

The problem is the waste caused by the plastic bottles is filling up landfills, FAST, and they are not worth the money or energy spent making them.
There are some places in the world where you need bottled water, but most modern places simply don't need it.
Drink what comes out of your taps. If you need to, filter it, but even activated charcoal isn't going to do much to most place's water.
They don't NEED it, but they are killing MY planet to satisfy their thirst with H20 in PET instead of a cup

Now that is a valid point. The solution is to place the actual cost (in environmental damage/cleanup) of the plastic bottles back on the user/producer instead of leaving it for future generations to pay. A substantial tax placed on each bottle sold that reflected this would probably motivate the right behavior. If the water companies go out of business, so be it. I think it is more likely that they would sell fancy reusable bottles that one could take to the nearest stop and rob and refill from a water fountain. (In this case I am thinking of a soda machine type setup except that instead of soda selections the user has a choice between different types of bottled waters "on tap.")

anywhere from 20-75 dollars a bottle, and in blind taste tests most people prefered manhattan tap water.

my mom is one of those crazy natural remedy health-food store kinda people... so i've heard all about them.
splenda is made from synthetic chlorine.
studies have shown that aspartame acts to increase your apetite.
i've also heard it breaks down into (among other things) methanol.
its been linked with cancer (so has saccharin)
etc etc.
the only one of these i'm going to say is for sure true is the one about splenda. scientists have been arguing both ways about all of them for a long time... who knows.

Actually, where I grew up, we had what I swore was the greatest tap water on the planet. It was from a well, and it was amazing. Now, I'm on town water, which often smells of sulfur and probably a few other things that I wouldn't want to drink. We use the filter on the fridge instead. I don't buy bottled water if I don't have to.

I know this is targeted to those who go for "fitness drinks;" but I need to make my position clear before the argument shifts towards "tap vs. bottled." The water on tap at my school is so heavily laced with chlorine that it would be more bearable to drink directly out of our campus pool than to take water from the tap.
I don't think I know anybody who drinks water who doesn't feel thirsty at the time. They complain that they don't like water because it doesn't have any flavour. Their only source of hydration comes from food and the very few soft drinks they have every day.
I think the reason is obvious. Those who prefer Propel and all those other drinks to water often (and
unknowingly) see drinking as an obligation that they should at least
enjoy. If anyone ever complains to you about having to drink water, he will fall under this category.
Yes, sometimes water does suck, even bottled. If you can only get crappy tasting water but don't want to overwhelm your senses when you drink, then it's not such a bad idea to buy products like propel.

We have this on base. You can buy a gallon jug of water, and then bring it in to the shopette as many times as you want to get it refilled for like a buck. I'm not much on drinking water period but whatever.

I like the taste of water more than the taste of soft drinks.
It doesn't taste like nothing, it tastes like water.
As for heavy chlorine water let it stand for a bit. chlorine evaporates from water very very quickly. Normally just pouring it a long distance is enough to get most of it out.
