Bring lots of water, it gets hot. And bring your own toilet paper.

how are their facilities?

They are about as clean as can be after about 10,000 people have had a go at them. Now alot of people come in RV's that have their own toilet but still there is always a line up, and after the first day they always run out of paper. If I were you I'd bring two roll for each person you're with. It couldn't hurt to invest in a camp toilet too. Not , the most lavish accomidations but much better than the alternative.

Is it still event paint only? I tried that Battle Line paint out at two different
Tour of Duty events this past summer. It was garbage.

I don't know, but people always smuggle paint onto the field.

the paint is being custom made for this game.

They are testing now.

FYI,

Anyone who knows me at all knows I'm always looking for
a way to create greater interest in getting folks to take
part in the Annual Oklahoma D-Day Event.

I did that almost three years ago by bringing in a group
named 1 Shepherd, to help teach a small group of the Allied
staff and players some basic tactics. That effort was well
received, not to mention successful. They then returned last
year and offered anyone who elected to take one of their
courses a variety of useful leadership and tactical skills.
They've now advised me they'll be returning once more this
year and that they're once again going to be expanding their
program so that players will either be able to take the course
using ones own paintball guns, or one of the firm's 'real
steel' MILEs 2000 equipped weapons.

They've even secured a vendor spot next to the Mexican cantina,
in the vendor's area to make it easier for folks to find them!
The two course options they'll be offering this year include;

1. A paintball-platform class will run every morning, Monday
thru Friday at a cost of $25 per participant.

2. A MILES-platform class every afternoon Monday thru Friday
at a cost of $75 per participant. (includes use of either M-16,
AK-47 or RPK light MG, and all necessary blanks).

Anyone wishing to reserve a spot in either of their classes
better get over to their website and reserve a slot soon!

Their website address is -
http://www.1shepherd.com - 1 Shepherd

NOTE: I am not a paid representative of 1 Shepherd nor do I
stand to gain in any way from making this announcement. 1
Shepherd is no longer associated with the Allied Command and
will not, in any way be involved with our mission planning
or tactical operations.

Sincerely,

Andrew Van Der Plaats
S-1 Allied Command

$70 to pre register
$65 a case of paint
hotel-???? we camp on sight and RV spots are something like $15 i think? but there are a few places nearby that you can camp at, the best thing is to brig an RV though.

there are also alot of name brand paintball companies there, like tippmann, hammerhead, empire, spyder, tacamo, crossfire, tiberious, etc. and they are selling thier goods there

On site camping will run you 5 bucks for the week and
that includes use of the showers. Food is reasonable,
as is the variety of things to choose from. Bring a
small grill or team up with others in your group and
fix your own to save even more. Some folks rent a RV
or bring a motor home and again some split the cost.
Neosho, MO is about 20 minutes drive to the east. It
has several food places, but only a couple motels &
all are filled long before the event, so book early
if you plan to stay there. There's also a super-walmart
there for those who need last minute items, food, etc.

I would really love to consider doing a week long event, but physically I think it might kill me. I could barely walk for two days after doing the Tippmann World Challenge. The description of the bathrooms isnt too enticing either. lol. I think until I can get a group together to rent an RV, I will have to keep dreaming.

Suit yourself. The bathrooms are cleaned
daily, plus there's plenty of porta potties
scattered about and they also get serviced
daily. There's even some of those portable
wash basins scattered about.

If camping in a tent doesn't suit you, I'd
talk with the guys with the Commonwealth, as
I've heard they're planning to bring in more
CONEX containers again this year, so they
can park their cots in them. Maybe someone
who is with them can fill in the details.

If you're going with a tent, make sure to
also put down a drop cloth first, after you
clear the area of rocks of course. A can
of spray water repellant applied before
it rains will help keep the tent dry. Just
make sure you don't pitch it on a low spot.

Sorry if you mistook my post. I was pretty much saying that I was too much of a pansy to weather an all week event, not that it wasnt worth going to. Sounds like a hell of a lot of fun. If only I was younger, in better shape and able to take off for a week without the fam damily.

Glad to hear you'll be joining the fun,
but I'm sorry to hear you're thinking
of going German.

To those who missed last night's show,
Dewayne showed off more photos of the
work on the buildings which are being
built in the Colleville area. Built
using cinder blocks, the four buildings
will be a full two stories tall. Look
for even more in the years ahead.

FYI, Druid broke an arm and isn't going to be
able to make it, but there'll still be plenty
of targets regardless of which side you pick.
Last chance to pick your unit is upon you, so
pick now, otherwise you never know where they
will put you.

Just thought you might want to know, but this year they'll be using Brass Eagle paint (was paintballing at the bunker today), somehow the conversation got steered from my buying their only tpx pistol for 200$ to what paint will be used at d-day, for those of you that don't know,  the bunker is owned by the same guy that runs d-day, his mother runs the store for him.
