Zooey Deschanel was perfect for her role, her band was really good, the bar/fight scene topped all other Jim Carey movie-scenes ever, and the movie was generally a pleasant view.

"Oh, I was going to fist you"

Looks good. I'll have to get out to see it soon.

I may see it.

Also, I can't wait until Christmas to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

I liked Yes Man. The fight scene was hilarious.

It doesn't even look like a remake of Liar Liar.

I want to see it.

I also agree with Hysteria on Benjamin Button. Really want to see that.

Please.

Man is set in ways.

Said ways effect those around him negatively.

Something happens.

Man is forced to change ways

Man finds out that the new way is better than the old way.

Add Jim Carey's brand of stupid humor.

Happy ending.

It may not look like it on the surface, but take away the frilly details....its the same thing.

Well when you take away frilly details, you could say a lot of other movies are the same, too. It's the frilly details (among other things) that set movies apart, so of course when you take them away you're going to have similar, if not identical, structures.

I too have heard many "Liar Liar remake" reviews.  Overall it sounds like it has potential but doesn't deliver.

I really enjoyed it its had just enough humor to keep you going and wasn 't stupid or childish. Jim Carrey just does it way better than anyone i have ever seen!!!

Anyone that thought "remake" went in to the movie with a predisposition. It is NOT a remake, and it does deliver.

Not the case, that's making assumptions with no proof/ connection.

Also, I tried re-watching Liar Liar 2 years ago, and I couldn't even get through it.  It was just painful to watch today.

Nope (well, yes, but that's not what I meant), that would be seeing the movie after coming to the conclusion that it is a remake of Liar, Liar. They were (more than likely, anyway) predisposed to thinking "REMAKE REMAKE" so they forced the connections.

Yeah, so I saw this today.

Even thinking of Liar, Liar originally it is nothing like that.

He is not forced to say yes. He doesn't start saying yes because he is a horrible person. He starts saying yes because his life sucks, he figures that out, and wants to change it.
