Not that I'm saying this would have anything to do with it but are you shooting CO2 or HPA?  With CO2 at that temperature it may not have enough pressure to opperate the system.  I've been told that an RT/Cyclone set up requires pretty high pressure to operate.

The temp could have a fair amount to do with it. At lower temps, the paint can be brittle. Where is the paint breaking, in the barrel or in the cyclone? When you were shooting slowly and using a gravity fed hopper, you werent asking much from the paint. With the RT and Cyclone, it is a little rougher on the paint. Does the paint break when you shoot slowly?

You may want to try a winter paint that has a thicker shell. You may also have the RT set too high and the cyclone cant keep up.

Most likely the cold along with the increased rate of fire was too much for the paint. Try a winter formula and maybe look into squishy paddles. Also consider lowering your rate of fire a bit. You may want to check your velocity as well.

Im kinda new to this and have been reading alot. I live in ohio its around the same temperature as you. I had my  a-5 with r/t and cyclone feeder testing it and kept breaking balls. I switched tanks and it stopped breaking them. Your tank pressure might be low or almost empty.
