i have yet to see the appeal of the UL frames for the rails.

yeah they feel better, but they really serve no other purpose than aesthetics and comfort.

im not into spending half as much as i paid for the gun on a single upgrade.

but if you like it then thats all that really matters, and you can just ignore my rant thingy.

Edit:
a_sock, i know all about the UL frame, I love them, just not on a Rail, its why i havent put one on mine, the cost in relation to the gun is not worth the tiny upgrade you get out of it. For $150, you can get a much nicer trigger for the stock frame, a better bolt and better eyes.

Ul frames feel amazing and make the marker a lot more comfortable to shoot. Comfort makes a really big difference, so far there is not any other marker frame that comes close to the ergonomic/comfort level of a ultralite frame. It also comes with a slightly different trigger, and the frame has that little light at top so you can see your modes and such while still looking down the side of the gun. Yeah it might be stupid to put something like that on a rail or proto gun, especially because a lot of dm7's are going for under 500 used.

That ul frame really makes a difference to some people. My dad uses a dm8, Ive got two droids. He knows mine is easier to maintain, lighter, easier to program stock board(dip switches vs lights, droid can be all done externally without opening up grips) and he knows mine has been more efficient and more consistent, but he still uses that tin can just because of that frame.
Theres also been pro teams/college teams that go to dye instead of other companies or switch to dye because their marker is so damn comfy.

Mine was used so it wasn't nearly as much as a new one.

anywho, The trigger that came with my pmr was absolute dog crap and I mainly got the UL for the trigger. The amazing comfort was just a bonus.

Also, I wanted a metal frame because it felt like I was holding a toy with the plastic one. I never realised how much more I liked the UL till I held it. It fits perfectly in the hand.

nah I think people who keep trying to upgrade their guns instead of getting something newer/better is a waste.  Im sure if kook got it used it made it more apealing than shelling out more cash for something new.
