hi,

I am new to paintball and decided on Tippman a-5 with R/T in lieu of an electronic gun.  I have seen the youtube videos on rapid fire but have been only been able to get a semi rapd spurts out rather than the chain saw sounding rapid fire.   I ma using 4500 psi HPA.  I saw posts and the tutorial on the Super RT but can someone take a look at this pic and let m eknow if the larger hose is the mod or does the other hose need to be 1/8".  Also why does RT plunger sometimes rest on the trigger and other times is 1/2 way like in the pic.  I have other questions on maintenance and sir leaks but will post another for that

Thanks!

I always thought both lines were supposed to be 1/8". But than again, that would be a super RT and Cylone mod..?

As for the plunger not hitting the trigger, it depends on whether the marker is gassed up or not and how you have it dialed in.

That looks like a little funky way of doing it but it
looks like that way may work, as long as the connection
going to the RT doesn't dwindle down to a 1/16 valve at
any point. I believe the cyclone feed is fine remaining
with a 1/16 hose to it, I have my with a 1/8 hose going
to it, but inside of it is a little piece that lessens
the air to a 1/16. Although I'm tempted to take that
adapter out so it's just the 1/8 hose as to allow more
air. I think having the 1/16 hose going to the cyclone
feed may also make it so that more excess air is going
to the RT instead of the cyclone feed. For the RT
plunger not hitting the trigger, like the other dude
said, also there may be a bit of air remaining in the
chamber. A good way to fix it so that the plunger is
always out touching the trigger is to put a pen spring
down in the chamber, so the plunger will remain outward
even if the marker is not gassed up. I'd say give that
little mod a try, I liked it.

When I first did the "super RT" mod, I only replaced the RT hose.  It was only when I installed the LPK that I got the larger hose for the Cyclone.

Thanks- so it appears I have the Super RT mod.  Does HPA air work as well as CO2 i heard not.  Also does the pressure out the reg affect this inability to get the true effect on the response trigger?

Also what is LPK (low Pressure Kit?)

HPA can work as well as CO2 but you need the Super (which apparently you have) to get its full  ability.  you also have to take the time to adjust the rt and have patience doing so.  wwhen you get it dialed in right it will lay down ropes.

Also don't forget to do the straw mod.  It does as much good as the super RT, and only takes five minutes.

I got a Tippmann tech to adjust my R/T and with slight trigger pressure changes I can get semi to full auto and any thing in between. Next time you are at your field, get a seasoned vet to help you play with the adjustment. Also, if I have a low tank I will get no push back from my R/T.

Next time you are at your field, get a seasoned vet to help you play with the adjustment. Most fields I have been to, the refs know less than I do. You are better off learning how to do it yourself. Also, if I have a low tank I will get no push back from my R/T. Again, yes, thats the way it works.

Welcome to the forum Staka. In the future, you may want to try and stay on topic. The question was regarding straw mods on the RT, not an explanation of how it works.
