There have been several version of the 98.. the M98, 98C, 98C with ACT, 98C Platnium. In some earlier versions, the receivers were not milled to accept the e-grip boards. ------------- "When I grow up I want to marry a rich man and live in a condor next to the beach" -- My 7yr old daughter. |

| I am fairly sure that my gun is pre 880000. However I do not know, the number that I belive to be the serial is 239233, located just above the rear grip (not the PT number). Hypotheticly, could I use a dremmel to make such a slot for the board? Even if I did manage to make such a modification would not have an A.C.T. really screw me over that much? |

Yes, you could dremel the receivers to make it work, but it would take a lot of effort. There has to be a slot for the board and solenoid, with a channel for the actuator pin. You would also need a place for the battery. The board has to be pretty precisely placed so that the microswitch is in the EXACT position in order to work with the trigger. It isn't a mod for a beginner, but could be done. |

I havent had the chance to field strip it yet so I have no idea what the inside of the grip looks like on this model, but for everything to be in place I could make a mold of a newer inside, grind out the current inside, put in mold and pop in the E-gripp. Wold that be easier? |

Like I said, I am sure it can be done, but it wont be easy. If you take on the project, let us know how it goes. Keep in mind that an E-grip is going to cost about $100.00 and you could most likely find a used E-grip equipped 98 or even an A-5 for $120-$140. Seems like a lot of hassle. |
