Just saw this last night, i knew about the sedan, but the coupe is VERY VERY Nice

The Genesis Coupe:

Concept:

Production:

I'd really like the body of the concept.

Anyway, this is one hyundai i would have no problems driving with the exception of the Elantra I drive at the moment.

The Genesis Coupe is rear wheel drive and comes with the option of a 2.0L l4 Turbo (212hp) or a 3.7L V6 (306hp). Now if i could just find a weight I can compare the hp/wt ratios with the other compact coupes out there.

I'm very impressed with this car. Sadly the list price is gonna be around $30K, which makes this also one very expensive Hyundai (as compared to the other hyundai's).

I don't think people believe in Hyundai's brand labeling enough to drop 30k on one.

Not to mention to me it looks like the Tiburons older brother.

I was about to say - it looks like a reworked Tiburon.  Definitely an improvement, but then the Tiburon needed improvement.

That said, I would have no problems driving a Hyundai.  I gather they have mostly overcome their reliability issues, and their prices are hard to beat.

Resale value on a hyundai is crap.

However, they are doing that new thing now that if you lose your job within a year of purchase they will buy it back from you.

I think they might be shooting for the fact you wont be $20,000 in debt with no job, so then you can use what money you have already payed on it to get a cheaper junk car.

But good point though, I didnt even think of that. lol.

hell yeah it is.

I wish I could have done that for mine.

The $200 a month payments and $200 a month insurance is kind of steep at the moment.

They built this car to compete with the 370Z/G37

yeah, it does look similar to a Tiburon, I think it looks more like an Altima Coupe.

Hyundai has in fact overcome previous reliability issues, and now all come with a 10yr/100k warranty.

edit: wierd... those watermarks were not on there before, thats what i get for hotlinking i guess.

There are a lot of nice older racer/cruiser sailboats I could get for 30k that I could not only enjoy but live on as well

Looks nice until you get to the grill...

Then it looks like it's a really smug, scrawny, buck-toothed, ginger kid.

definitely doesn't look like your typical Hyundai, but once you hit the $30k mark, it gets pretty competitive; lots of automakers have decent sports car platforms here. I'd still take a Honda S2000 if I had to choose a sports car in the 30k range.
