Do we have a promotion system back, or is it still by post count?

The applebutter dance was in response to all the negative press that the previous platinum initiation process received.

The old ways are the best ways.

Thanks Jmac, I knew about the post count star system.

The stars given was basically just mods playing favorites then? If they liked you more you got more stars?

Pretty much, but the Regulars forum was used more then. Was like T&O without idiocy.

There were many idiots who were entirely too retarded to be there.

Also, if I remember correctly instead of strikes like now stars were taken away.

Maybe to a certain extent, but I think they kept a pretty good watch our the New Players forum to see who was actually helping and who wasn't. Before I got my 2nd star, I spent a lot of time in the New Players forum helping people out.

Heh.  Careful what you ask for.

Generally the ones who "Ask" for a title are given some pretty embarrassing ones if memory serves correctly.

Can't remember who the last one to ask for a title was though.

Okay, so tied into Sangreti's sig, his title is pretty funny.

But I'm a little jealous.  I don't have a title.

No detrevni.

In my slight inkling of caring, I could care less.

or

You don't care at all, so you couldn't care less.

Works either way, kthxbye

I mean the word Buick itself...  It sounds like someone is gagging up some bile and about to hurl.  buick.....BUICK!.....

Jmac: Nah. The only reason the first version "works" is because it's become an accepted part of the English language. Taken literally, you could care less. You care. Just because you realise that it means you have a slight inkling of caring, doesn't mean the next guy will. Maybe it's interpreted to mean, hey, I care some. Now, while typing this, something did occur to me. It could mean "I'm impartial," as in, "Well, I suppose I could care less." But the way it's generally used is a negatively connotated phrase meaning "I don't care, this is dumb."  That would be "I couldn't care less," emphasizing the fact that this is a waste of time.

So they really do not mean the same thing. "I'm impartial," or "THIS IS A BLOODY WASTE OF MY TIME!"

Ruska: Hah. I get it. What has been heard, cannot be unheard.

Blah. They don't mean the same thing, but I suppose they could be used. "Could care less" just seems so silly...
